I do have a weakness for Brit bikes, especially Nortons. Check this shit out.

The thing here is that IT'S A NORTON. WITH A PUSHROD TWIN. Classic engine and gearbox. Who the hell cares that it's a five speed box?
Now if we could only get a real classic Triumph engine in something. Like an original triple. Not these newfangled ones, though I do think they're pretty damn awesome and I would own one. 1/18/2006 11:09:58 AM |

i mean it's cool but one thing i've learned about 5 speeds is that on the highway they suck ass. the r6 is much easier to cruise on the highway than the hawk. although the hawk only has ~55hp and maxes out at 115. if the top speed of this bike is around 140 then it shouldnt be bad on the highway. just tired of riding the hawk on the highway and only being 2k away from redline the whole time. 1/18/2006 11:22:52 AM |

All in your final gearing. Change your sprockets. 1/18/2006 11:24:09 AM |

i guess ill get around to that. or ill just ride the r6 for the highway. i hear if i change the sprockets ill lose around town oomph. 1/18/2006 11:25:12 AM |

Tradeoffs, man. You can't have everything with a lower-horsepower bike.
But for me the riding experience is about more than just oomph. 1/18/2006 11:28:49 AM |

coilovers look good but dual is a damn old technology. what are the benefits of it? smoother ride? 1/18/2006 2:11:32 PM |

keeping it relatively old skool
[Edited on January 18, 2006 at 6:51 PM. Reason : not meant to be a modern race rep. it's a retro bike. modern interpretation of the old Commando] 1/18/2006 6:50:24 PM |

And that is what I love about this bike.
Now the big question is this: are the shifter and rear brake on the wrong side like the old Commando? I can't tell in the pics...I gotta get glasses one of these days. 1/18/2006 7:03:36 PM |
