Given the circumstances, I don't think Davis should be suspended at all. He was protecting his wife and did not punch/push/shove any fans. Obviously he'll be suspended because the NBA has to make an example out of him, but all he was doing was watching out for his family.

Quit comparing apples and oranges.

If it wasn't for the Palace brawl last year, Davis would get 1 or 2 days, tops.

Stern said that there would be harsh penalties if a player enters the stands...that no player has a right to cross that line and enter them.

As commissioner, he has to back up his words. I'm sure he probably feels pretty bad about doing it, but he's doing it for the "better" of the league.

So if Kobe threw that elbow in the stands at some random guy, he'd be suspended for the season. Not even MJ can stand to the power of Stern. You may think Kobe is god or something, but every player knows that Stern rules all.
