This topic has came up numerous times in other threads so I decided to make an official one. Reynolds Rowdies a good name but to my knowledge there is no name for us in the RBC Center. So what should we, if anything, be called:
Ive heard Pack Attack but i think thats pretty gay; anyone have any other suggestions? 1/22/2006 12:55:54 AM |

let's have a student section that shows up strong to ALL games not just big acc one's then we'll worry about naming em from there 1/22/2006 12:23:57 PM |

^ honestly i think if the student section had a name it would be a progression toward being a real group and more people showing up. If people knew the whole section was gonna be cheering like crazy and having a good time then more people would be interested in showing up
if the SWPC could get our members to actually do the cheers on the cheer sheets it would be a big improvement 1/22/2006 1:26:51 PM |

^i agree. im in the swpc too and there are too many people who get good sideline seats and then just stand there; meanwhile there are plenty of people in seats behiend the goal and in the upper decks that are going crazy; 1/22/2006 1:32:47 PM |

Yeah the cheer sheet yesterday was gay as fuck
Momma's boy was good, but other than that it SUCKED
But I do love the booing of the opposing teams best player. It obviously worked for J-Gray yesterday.
^I know...I'm just saying...It really doesnt matter. We really just need to show up and be loud. Fuck everything else.

this student section is pathetic.
its not loud, there are big holes where people could be standing, they only show up when the team is playing someone good.
it makes me sad, when i was in school it was nuts.... you can barely hear the students on tv.... 1/22/2006 2:37:54 PM |

^^ and ^^^
you both have points. the often ARE gaps in the student section unless it's a huge opponent.
the students often are VERY loud (the end of games usually)
sometimes they are dead silent. when i try to start yelling on defense i realize im the only one doing it. If we could take the energy from the END of the game and start it at the beginning like we kind of did for WF, it would be awsome in there

Ok, why should we give a FUCK what the media says about us? If you haven't noticed we pretty much get the bad rep. anyway. Our student section has already had some good press lately; Hewitt cursing and Gray throwing gum. I am all for yelling at the other team, to me thats sometimes the best part of attending sporting events. Every student should go the games; fball, bball and baseball, and go with the goal to piss one person off. You can't always get in the head of a player (but apparently we have a knack for that ) but even if you piss off one or two fans from the other team you should consider your job done.
And for all of those students who don't like the taunting in the student section, GTFO.

it seems that the enthusiasm of the students is proportional to the amount of time they have to wait for tickets...
now you just walk up (or sign up online or whatever shitty system it is now) and get you chance for tickets almost immediately... i honestly believe you're more excited when you waited for 4 hours in the cold to get those tickets to the GT game or Clemson or whoever...1/22/2006 5:49:08 PM |

How 'bout we organize a group that is completely autonomous from the SWPC.
Not only is it a lame organization, it's handcuffed by its association with the WPC and Athletics. That's why the cheer sheet is always so fucking retarded. 1/23/2006 2:59:52 AM |

Yep. I fucking hate it when I'm watching these games on tv (alum now, not anywhere near raleigh) and I see 3 people jumping in the student section and the rest of those assholes are standing there picking their nose. If you don't want to be there, take the 300 section. If you're going to be on the floor/behind the backboards, do your fucking job.1/23/2006 9:58:15 AM |

I like the Red Terrors.
It was our nickname back in the day, so it has historical merit, and is also indicative of the hostility visiting teams will face. Also, the name may not be trademarked by the university anymore (if it ever was), so anyone could make t-shirts and distribute them.
I don't like "RBC rowdies." If the title sponsor ever changes, then the nickname will have to as well. 1/23/2006 11:16:49 AM |

Yeah I agree the Red Terrors definitly works, while it doesn't help to give a more descriptive term to the students and who it is associated with, I think it definitly describes our fan base. 1/23/2006 11:20:32 AM |
