I know it's really early for this, but I thought it might be fun to go ahead and start discussing how the league will look next year.

Atlantic:
1. FSU
2. CU
3. BC
4. NCSU (this is wishful thinking I know, but hey it could happen. we won't have much in terms of expectations, so it might take some pressure off.)
5. UMD
6. WFU

Coastal:
1. UM
2. GT
3. VT (i know i'm gonna get some flack for putting them here, but i have a gut feeling about this one)
4. UNC
5. UVA
6. Duke

ACC Champion: FSU

Most Intimidating Place to Play: Clemson

Bowl Predictions:
Orange - FSU
Gator - UM
Peach - CU
Champs Sports - VT
Meineke Car Care - GT
Emerald - BC (they seem to get screwed in bowl selection sometimes)
MPC Computers - UNC
Gaylord Hotels Music City - NCSU (hopefully we can make a bowl)

Coach of the Year - Tommy Bowden

I don't feel like predicting Offensive and Defensive players of the year right now.

I will predict that the old record for the decibel level for C-F will finally be broken this year, but the people that produce the player introductions video will regress, if that's even possible.

we'll be ok, less people with a "me" attitude and hopefully more people with a team attitude. qb who is 5-1 or 6-1 as a starter with some experience plus a good backfield. don't expect too much though

Even during the Rivers era, Duke did play us tough....about time for them to beat us...this year should be there best shot...

Wonder if our OL will beat the alltime record for giving up the most sacks in a season? Stone probably will not make it through the season.

my guess is the only shining star of next season is the O-Line actually.

I actually think Tommy Bowden puts it together next year and they have a big year. Davis was great at RB as a freshman and Proctor is suppossed to be a good QB. They were young this year and played well.

the new QB is the only reason why i would not put them in first in the Atlantic. plus the fact that FSU played incredibly well (kicking aside) in the ACCCG and the Orange Bowl. i believe that will give them a lot of momentum coming into the season. the only real problem i see is the possible QB controversy. Wyatt Sexton will return, but Drew Weatherford played outstanding for a freshman.

Is Sexton coming back? I thought I read that he was done at FSU.

I think Weatherford will only get better, though.

And yep, Wyatt's gone: http://floridastate.scout.com/2/488950.html

I feel bad for our running backs. Such a good group of players, who won't be able to accomplish much because we don't exactly have an air attack. Plus, with all we're losing on defense, they'll probably be playing from behind quite often.

Sept. 2 Appalachian State WIN
Sept. 9 Akron WIN
Sept. 16 @ Southern Miss WIN
Sept. 23 Boston College LOSS
Sept. 30 OPEN
Oct. 5 (Thurs) Florida State LOSS
Oct. 14 Wake Forest WIN
Oct. 21 @ Maryland LOSS
Oct. 28 @ Virginia LOSS
Nov. 4 Georgia Tech LOSS
Nov. 11 @ Clemson LOSS
Nov. 18 @ North Carolina WIN
Nov. 25 East Carolina WIN

I'm calling 6-6 and if that gets us into a bowl game then that is great for what could be expected next year

As for the rest of the ACC, VT will struggle a little bit more than it has the past couple of years, FSU will be the best team in the league by a good margin and in the end a top 3 or 4 team in the country i believe, and Duke will win more games than people expect (their recruiting has been loads better the past couple of years and that will start to show on the field a little bit). Everyone else will probably be about the same as they are every year in the 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3 range

I hope to god we are better than 6-6 next year, that is a fairly easy schedule, No VT, No Miami, and a soft home schedule to start

which one of the games that I predicted us to lose do you think we could win? I hope we are a lot better than 6-6 next year too but I tried to pick them w/o bias.

Maybe we can win one of BC and GT at home and maybe win one of those games on the road that I picked us to lose (b/c at least last year we were better on the road anyway) and that would put us at 8-4 but we could just as easily lose to UNC at their place and to Southern Miss on the road so...

six wins does still get you in to a bowl game though....will we be able to count our win over APP (assuming that does happen)? i know there is some rule about being able to count so many over a certain time period and I don't know our status on how many we have used recently

I'm sure we'll lose to UNC also, not because they will be superior. We will just find a good way to fuck it up like always.

^ Wrong in 2002 or 2003 when most teams played a 12 game schedule, 6-6 was good enough for a bowl bid. Albeit a shitty bowl.

On a side note:

I predict that this ass clown will complain about Chuck at some point next season:
