Post some good Jimmy V quotes here. I'm sure there are a number of them that I haven't heard.

Quote :
"Remember: people are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway. - Jim Valvano"

"I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, 'Of course not'. I said, 'Well, I think you stink'. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust ‘em."

Ah... I let a friend of mine borrow "V and Me" for awhile... if I had that, I could make a list of funny shit.

Don't remember the exact quotes, but two of the funnier ones.

1) When he kept calling Pepperdine University "The toothpaste school" before we played them (And nearly got whipped) in the NCAA tournament

2) When he was interviewing for the Iona job... he met with the AD at Iona College (I forgot his name, we'll call him Joe Schmoe)

"Hi, I'm Joe Schmoe. Iona College"

Valvano: "Aren't you a little young to own a college?"

"I didn't know anything about the shoes or the tickets or anything else for that matter. I swear. One thing Uncle Paulie taught me before he got whacked is that you never rat anybody out."

yea Jim Valvano is dead....so is Abraham Lincoln.

Does that mean the Gettysburg Address is no longer important?

Jimmy V is the man and I support this thread...its basketball season and there is nothing wrong with remembering one of our great basketball coaches.

its cool and all to respect him...

but inevitably it leads to the "herb aint no jimmie v so we should get rid of him" argument
