i dont know if they'll win 70 but i think they'll beat any team in the league in a 7 game series, hence they will win the title this year
ps: Larry Brown is overrated 1/28/2006 3:58:03 PM |

Barring an injury to the starting 5, they're taking the title.
70 wins...hell, maybe. 36-5 is pretty fucking good.

Best team i've seen in a while. Billups is MVP in my opinion and their defense is downright scary at times. They've beaten the Spurs twice by double digits. With home court advantage, this title is theirs to lose. 1/28/2006 4:45:51 PM |

Anyone else notice how the Pistons are doing better and the Timberwolves are worse. Hello Flip Saunders!!! I thought he just never had anything other than KG in Minnesota. 1/28/2006 5:44:12 PM |

Right now, in the NBA, it's the Pistons...then everybody else. Unless someone in their starting 5 gets seriously hurt, the Pistons will win the title. I agree with PackMan03 that the MVP should be Billups, but it should be shared with either Kobe or Nash, and all five starters for the Pistons should be on the All-Star team. If they don't win 70, then they will get close like 68.
Flip Saunders is going to be Coach of the Year. Even though he inherited a team that was put together by Rick Carlisle and Larry Brown, Saunders made them a team that can score at will and still beat you defensively. This year, no one can really stop them in a 7-game series. If they want help, call Jerry Sloan. The Jazz are the only team to sweep the Pistons this year. Other than that, the Pistons are going to regain that belt back.
Oh yeah, Joe Dumars is a great basketball mind that doesn't enough credit for making those transactions to put that team together.

ummm...no. Flip is an X's-and-O's tactician, he's got all sorts of plays set up for different situations and scenarios. Larry Brown is just a control freak who doesn't like shoot-first pg's. Sucks for him that he's in New York with Marbury now.1/29/2006 11:56:02 AM |

I'm not gonna say that Flip gives them that much freedom, because they still have great organization to the way they play. The main difference is that they aren't worried about getting that earful, and that makes it ten times more fun to play. Pistons all the way! 1/29/2006 12:11:11 PM |

The Pistons are great, but you'd be stupid to sleep on the Spurs. They're still the most fundamentally sound team in the NBA. 1/30/2006 1:06:48 AM |

Not sleeping on the Spurs--I think they're the best in the West once Manu is back in form. But I thought Detroit was clearly the better team last year when they showed up to play (which they didn't do all the time, including in a couple of games in the finals)...and they're beyond that this year. 1/30/2006 7:43:01 AM |

I think 45 games is a pretty good barometer of a team, and they're on pace for 71 wins right now. It's more than reasonable to think they CAN do it. 2/4/2006 1:25:48 PM |
