first year i havent seen any of the best picture nominees[Edited on January 31, 2006 at 10:22 AM. Reason : in fact ive only seen constant gardener, corpse bride, cinderella man, and murderball out of all ]
1/31/2006 10:21:22 AM
Where the heck is WEDDING CRASHERS, SAW 2, WAITING! haha
1/31/2006 11:10:52 AM
for Walk the Line not to be included in Best Picture is horseshit. Munich wasn't near as up to par as Walk the Line.
1/31/2006 11:13:49 AM
just proves jews and gays run america
1/31/2006 11:24:56 AM
1/31/2006 11:27:44 AM
holy shitGO SQUID AND WHALE!!!
1/31/2006 11:45:15 AM
Wait, was Sin City this year or last year?gg philip seymore hoffman[Edited on January 31, 2006 at 11:46 AM. Reason : p]
1/31/2006 11:45:24 AM
does it matter?
1/31/2006 11:53:27 AM
^ this year
1/31/2006 11:54:24 AM
1/31/2006 12:09:20 PM
I'm really surprised that William Hurt got nominated. I loved A History of Violence, but I didn't find anything really out of the ordinary about his performance, and while this isn't HIS fault, the casting felt kind of off.p.s. GO SQUID GO WHALE

Predicted winners:Best Picture:Good Night, and Good LuckActor:Philip Seymour HoffmanActress:Felicity Huffman or Reese Witherspoon, can't decide at momentSupporting Actor:Matt Dillon (although this is actually my personal choice...)Supporting Actress:Rachel WeiszDirector:Ang LeeForeign Film:no idea, haven't seen any of themAdapted Screenplay:Brokeback MountainOriginal Screenplay:The Squid and the WhaleDocumentary:Enron: The Smartest Guys in the RoomI haven't seen Street Fight or Darwin's Nightmare but I can't imaging Penguins or Murderball being winners b/c they aren't really controversial or political, which the Academy seems to lean toward.
1/31/2006 1:34:19 PM
VISUAL EFFECTS:The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the WardrobeKing KongWar of the WorldsI think it's bullshit that Episode III didn't get a nomination for visual effects since its visual effects are better than all three nominees.
1/31/2006 6:36:55 PM
^i dont understand that either. or how they only have 3 animated feature choices... why not Chicken Little or Valiant, or Robots... they might not win but there is certainly more than 3 choices.PS. am i the only one who thought Crash was really bad? acting and plot were awful.
1/31/2006 8:01:51 PM
brokeback mountain will own, further angering hicks and rednecks throughout the country
1/31/2006 8:04:19 PM
don't forget Pat Robertson
1/31/2006 8:57:13 PM
then why wouldn't mickey rourke get a nod for his role in Sin City? That really bruns me
1/31/2006 9:32:09 PM
Are you joking?
1/31/2006 9:38:00 PM
i'm laffin much more than i would if he was joking
1/31/2006 10:04:08 PM
Sin City easily could have gotten a "Best Visual Effects" nod at least.
1/31/2006 10:04:45 PM
I agree that it did deserve a visual effects or cinematography nom.
1/31/2006 10:11:42 PM
Jessica Alba's none nude titties were a tour de forceIf she does get naked, they should definitely give her an oscar. The same goes for all hot chicks.[Edited on January 31, 2006 at 10:44 PM. Reason : sdf]
1/31/2006 10:43:35 PM
spookyjon or woodfoot....have either of you seen Crash? i remember seeing it long ago on apple quicktime preview site & easily laughing it off........... i had the same reaction for the preview for Match Point........ ??!??? [Edited on January 31, 2006 at 10:50 PM. Reason : oscar nominee doesn't mean much to me of course, i hated mystic river]
1/31/2006 10:49:33 PM
AMY ADAMS BETTER FUCKING WIN
1/31/2006 10:53:34 PM
i really liked crashand it was impressive to see ludacris actually handle a dramatic turn...
1/31/2006 11:01:38 PM
I had little interest in seeing Crash. Maybe if it comes on HBO.Match Point I'll watch cuz it's supposed to be good + Scarlett Johanssen has the bomb-ass titties.
2/1/2006 12:15:00 AM
well yea, exactly
2/1/2006 12:17:16 AM
someone had a netflix'd copy of crash they let me borrowi was pleasantly suprised
2/1/2006 12:30:15 AM
Crash was fucking amazing. Definitely in my all-time top ten.I'm really, really rooting for David Strathairn, but I know his chances are about 1 in 40.
2/1/2006 12:36:10 AM
good night and good luck was enjoyable to me in a more academic way, as a far-left liberal who has a degree in mass communicationi didn't really think it was that great of a film, or that it was filled with too many amazing performances(of course it was light years better than 95% of movies)i just thought it was a good story that needed a good preservationi would not feel bad at all if straitharn won thoughcapote should win though, for pure performance
2/1/2006 12:39:50 AM
wtf hustle and flow?
2/1/2006 12:57:56 AM
AMY ADAMSAMY ADAMSAMY ADAMSAMY ADAMSAMY ADAMS
2/1/2006 1:15:54 AM
^I totally agree. Amy Adams should win the next 10 best supporting actress oscars for her performance in Junebug.
2/1/2006 1:29:17 AM
bttt for oscars tonight
3/5/2006 7:30:59 PM
I'll also agree. Amy Adams was awesome.
3/5/2006 8:07:22 PM
gg Academy. Syriana was one of the best movies of the year and George Clooney was awesome in it.
3/5/2006 8:22:33 PM
Syriana was a good movie but I think Clooney made it alot better so im glad he won.
3/5/2006 8:24:22 PM
i predict WotW
3/5/2006 8:28:53 PM
I lose.
3/5/2006 8:29:21 PM
Wallace and Gromit was hilarious, but I think Howl's Moving Castle should have won for animated.
3/5/2006 8:34:13 PM
the plot for howl's was uber-weak. i didn't see wallace and gromit, but the academy has always loved them. no surprise.
3/5/2006 8:42:50 PM
Crash was a really good movie
3/5/2006 8:44:05 PM
what is all this shit that I haven't heard of.
3/5/2006 8:46:44 PM
while its wierdi like that they're playing people off as soon as they start speakingits not like anyone cares about the costume designer or short film folksthis way they don't have to play off as many of the "big" winners
3/5/2006 8:51:34 PM
Seriously. They're playing the music during the entire acceptance speech.Boo-urns to that.
3/5/2006 8:58:20 PM
