Got a job in ORL.
Now its time for you all to hook me up with ideas of cool stuff to do when I'm not working. I plan on doing some fishing, kayaking, disc golfing, basketballing, and hopefully many more outdoor activities. Any other ideas? Any ideas of where I could do some of these things? Obviously Orlando is full of lakes and such, anyone know any particularly good ones? Good parks that you know of would also be cool.
I'm also on the lookout for cool "clubs," not techno-blaring, E-rolling type clubs, but chill jazzy clubs, or places I can relax and hang out without being inundated with loud, shitty music.
Any help is apprieciated. 1/31/2006 12:43:37 PM |

there's a lot of piano bars. howl at the moon rust reopened on i-drive and jelly rolls is always there. they're usually kinda crowded, but if thats what you are into.1/31/2006 3:07:42 PM |

theres plenty of places that do waterskiing/wakeboarding lessons or jetski rentals, could always take up a new sport in the land of the lakes. 1/31/2006 8:14:16 PM |

ugh, i hate Orlando.
i used to live in Tampa. if you want "real" clubs, not "disney-ized" stuff, go to Tampa. Its an hour drive, but worth it. 1/31/2006 10:23:13 PM |

Locals don't do the tourist stuff like Disney or City Walk very often. Going downtown to Church Street and Wall Street is a lot more fun. All the slutty UCF girls go downtown Friday and Saturday nights.
Tailgating for UCF football games used to be fun until a cop got shot to death this past season. Howl at the Moon is a pretty good piano bar on I-Drive. City Walk at Universal can actually be pretty fun every once in a while. The beaches are an hour away to the east and 1.5 hours away to the west. Space shuttle launches are the shit.

what about good and/or cheap sushi places in and around ORLANDO? 2/1/2006 12:20:40 PM |

There is a good sushi place downtown on Church St. I forget the name of it, but it is right across from Lattitude's and Chiller's. They were remodeling not too long ago, so it might not be back open yet.
Speaking of Lattitude's, it is a great roof-top bar downtown. It is perfect this time of year because it isn't too hot.
Also, make sure you buy a Sunpass for your car. There are toll roads all over town, and if you want to get around quickly then you need a Sunpass.
If you want to meet college hoes looking to party, then wait until the summer and go over to the Celebration/Lake Buena Vista exit on I-4. All the Disney college interns live there, and it has been ranked one of the best places to get laid in America. There are a few bars right in that area...you can't miss them. 2/1/2006 10:19:44 PM |
