NETWORKING & LINKSYS MENZ
I need help.
I have four things on my Linksys 802.11b router.
1. Main PC (cabled) 2. Wireless laptop 2. Network Printer (cabled) 3. Xbox Live
Here is my problem. Xbox Live keeps conflicting with the networked printer, it's like everytime I turn the printer on, it accepts an IP address from DHCP/the router that bumps Live! I have to restart everything when I turn either of them on. Live! can't find the right IP address until I delete the printer entry in the DHCP client table.
Is there anyway I can go into the router settings and dole them out so I don't have to keep refereshing everything and conflicting? If so, any details would be very helpful. 2/1/2006 9:09:37 PM |

give the xbox a static IP outside the range of the DHCP.. and manually configure the xbox to use that IP address.. 2/1/2006 9:31:15 PM |

at that level you manually configure the device - not the router 2/1/2006 9:36:53 PM |

if it is connected to the router, you can assign a static IP address using the MAC address that will show up in the router settings menu
or just flip the damn thing over and look 2/1/2006 10:13:54 PM |
