Rowdy Reptiles my ass! UF(basketball) is consistently overrated, and choke often. How much respect can you give to a team based on one final four run over half a decade ago. Oh and that place is not loud. Even on defense during such a big and close game I can sometimes hear the squeaks of the shoes on the floor. That doesn't happen when I watch games that are at State, UNC, Duke, UMD, Indiana, UConn, etc. God how I hate UF basketball. I have no problem with UF football. In fact I respect them greatly. It's just that every year they are overrated, and no one ever points it out. 2/4/2006 10:11:37 PM |

omg...hence the "if we make it on their radar"
When they were struggling against real teams in the SEC and we were consistently in the top 25 for no real reason...that triggered the exact emotion from them that Brass just displayed... 2/4/2006 11:09:03 PM |

what from the 2002 season? that's the only recent memory of us being consistently ranked.
besides that year we actually had a team worth a top 25 ranking. i still can't believe we couldn't pull out that UVA game.

^, ^^^umm...wow. ok first off we're hardly ever overrated. when was the last time that we were ranked. 2003 right before the Wake disaster before the tOSU game in Columbus. Also you should have checked before scratching out certain things. the Gator Bowl was just a little over 3 years ago, not six like for Florida's run to the 2000 Final Four run. I agree the that our stadium isn't as loud as Bama, and Florida, but I've heard from many Big 12 fans that even though UTejas' Darrel K. Royal Stadium seats 80k, it's not very loud. just ask TAMU, TT, and other Big 12 fans about their experience at UT. you obviously just chose a top program to put in there thinking that they would be a great deal louder than C-F. C-F gets pretty loud for it's size, and expect that to be a good bit louder with the bowling in of the NEZ. like the SouthernPigskin.com article stated, not many other stadiums in the ACC get louder. I can only really think of 3 that really are louder, and that's VT, CU, and FSU. honorable mention to the OB during the FSU game.

^^^i agree. i just put texas b/c theyre the NC's.
but it seems that every year, our own fans overrate us. its pretty annoying.
and the atmosphere at CF lags just about every SEC school except Kentucky and Vanderbilt. we're good for the acc, but thats not saying a lot.

I have been hoping this would happen since UF lost South Carolina in fb this year. It is the curse of Spurrier. He helped take that university to a national prominence and now he is helping to ruin it.
Actually my two best friends from HS went to UF (I went to HS near Jacksonville, FL) and so I follow UF sports closely although I always root against them (grew up a UGA fan).2/9/2006 11:01:59 AM |

^Hahahaha, I was pulling for it too. One of my friends here graduated from UF; one night last summer when we were drinking he went off about how State sucks in football, basketball, and academics, and Florida is so much better at everything.
Ever since then I've rooted against Florida. 2/9/2006 11:04:31 AM |

^ They are better than us in football, our basketball history pwnts their bb history and as for academics, I am convinced through personal experience working/knowing some of their engineering students that our Chemical Engineering program >>>>> UF's Chemical Engineering program. 2/9/2006 11:13:00 AM |

^ If you said that 4 years ago, you would have been mocked to death. Now though, I can agree. Donovan built his program fast with shady tactics and excellent recruiting, but Herb has slowly established his system and developed his players and made his program work. Plus Herb has had to do this under constant criticism, in the best conference (this year is an exception w/the Big East), and in NC under the shadow of ESPN's favorite teams Duke and UNC.
Donovan had to do relatively little other than create a team that could compete with Kentucky and suddenly his program is Top-10. 2/9/2006 11:26:59 AM |

He seems to have a pretty shady reputation in general, although I don't have specifics.

^ I was refering to UK in general terms, not just this year, since they are typically a top program. Yeah I have heard many things on Donovan, but his program has no NCAA violations (atleast that I know of) so I guess it's more perception than anything. It was strange though that he arrived at UF, to a shit program, and suddenly is getting commits from guys who normally end up at Duke, UNC, etc. 2/9/2006 11:41:54 AM |

TN is pretty impressive. I heard that LSU scored a TD once and a seismograph registered a small earthquake on campus.
One of our Asst. Coaches was a QB for WCU when they played LSU. He said he couldn't even call the plays until the crowd lost interest.3/28/2006 8:45:26 PM |
