So I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall all my programs and here is the new problem I am having.
I have an LCD monitor. It is on the standard 800x600 resolution. When I try to change the resolution the monitor turns off and says "No Signal". If I click the mouse, the monitor then comes back on in the 800x600 resolution.
I hooked up my old CRT monitor to see what it would do and I could change the resolution with no problem. When I plugged the LCD back in to try and "trick it" into a new resolution it had "No Signal" again.
I don't understand what the problem is. Before my reformat, I had the LCD on a different resolution with no problems.
What is going on here??? All help is appreciated!

Are you using the same different resolution, or a new different resolution?
It sounds pretty much like you're trying to use a res. your monitor doesn't support.
Also, it may be that you need to install/upgrade your graphics card drivers. 2/5/2006 3:53:36 AM |

I am trying to switch to the 1024X768 resolution. I used this res without any trouble before my reformat. I was thinking it may be some sort of driver problem but how would I go about figuring that out for sure? 2/5/2006 4:48:48 AM |

Try bumping down the refresh rate that you are using. 2/5/2006 1:26:00 PM |

is it likely that it would be the video card drivers if the CRT works fine at different resolutions?
My guess is that the monitor came with software that you need to reinstall. 2/6/2006 2:07:12 PM |
