and must say that well over half their cheers are parts of or basically our cheers. The completely stole the go to hell carolina line and put them on T shirts, like 34232 people had on that T shirt. I must admit though that their cheerleaders have gotten better looking. But its one of the smallest places I have been 2. It looks like a high school gym, reynolds pwns it.

but thanks Cameron Crazies for stealing our stuff.

cameron is small and hot for a reason.

it was never built to "top" any other arena.

what makes you think we didn't steal the cheers from them?

seems to me everyone in the league copies the crap duke started, like the jumping up and down which they do well and we try to do but looks like shit cause half the people dont do it and the other half don't jump together but just randomly.

i think your giving our fans to much credit if you say that duke has stolen our shitty cheers.

what didn't you like about it??? i mean the actual basketball court and stands def. looks outdated but i liked that room of champions with the shrines to the NPOY's in the past and the NC's and that other stuff; i thought it was neat

i didnt like how it appeared to be like a morman gym or something, no offense to mormans...the court and all did look rather small and vintage, but i did like how that vintage look came into play, i mean it gave it that old historic feel...just wish they would do some renovations, scoreboard would be the first.

"scoreboard would be the first."

definitely, but could they even fit a jumbotron type of scoreboard in there w/o it hanging too close to the floor or looking way too bulky??

Duke wouldn't have the distinct home court advantage if the students werent 30 inches from the action. If they were 12-15 feet, like most venues, it would be completely different, wish more schools would do it. Many many opponents have stated in PC's the proximity of fans as a factor, and oh yea, they're loud.

if its about the same size it should sit fine, it just needs some new stuff up there, and u would think a school like that would update things such as that. one thing i dont get is the doors at the ends...wtf are they for, decoration?

That doesn't mean that Reynolds was modeled after Cameron....you really should read up on NCSU History

Reynolds and Cameron were designed by the same guy, and reynolds was designed and started first. Cameron started later. Cameron was finished first, becasue NCSU stopped construction when money had to be rerouted due to WWII. Construction stopped. After the war was over, construction began again, but they realized that enrollment was up drastically. They had to expland Reynolds to be bigger than planned, which is why it is bigger than Cameron. They obviously would have to spend too much to make it wider because beams were already made, but they could make it longer with little expense. Reynolds was completed later because construction took longer, not because it was modeled after Cameron.

And "Cameron Crazies" was stolen and modeled after "Reynold Rowdies"

uhh...what?

http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/nchamps_team.php

shows zero titles for Duke.

Where's your info from?

Also, they didn't fare so well in the AP polls during the '40s either. I'd say no NCs for them.

http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/ap_poll.php?year=1940

Interesting, though, that State, UNC, and Wake(!!!!) show up in these as well.

i don't think this is right

i have a book about reynolds open in front of me (Images of America: Raleigh's Reynolds Coliseum) that says (on pg 22):

Quote :
"The building committee at NC State decided that they would do well to follow the same building plan used for the recently completed indoor stadium at Duke University...With Duke's cooperation, designers used the blueprints from the indoor stadium and saved $15,000 in design fees. Not satisfied to merely copy the design of the Duke building, NC State officials took Lee aside and instructed him to add 26 feet to the length of the building..."

(this book could be wrong, just relaying information...)
