I just replaced my old primary harddrive and formatted the new one and put windows on it, and got that all running, but i cant see my other 2 harddrives in "my computer". I can see them when i go into bios, or when i go into computer management in the control panel, but i cant access the information on them. Anyone know what the problem is? 2/12/2006 3:18:41 AM |

Could be one of two things:
1) Check the jumper settings on the hard drives and make sure they are correct. Plug your Windows HD into the primary cable and a second HD into the secondary cable. Leave your CDROMs and other stuff disconnected for now. If you can see the second HD on the secondary cable, it is a jumper thing.
2) Change the drive letter on them in computer management. 2/12/2006 7:20:35 AM |

The jumpers are correct, and no matter what arrangement i put the drives in I can only access the primary HD.
When i go into computer management, I cant do anything to the other 2 drives except change them from basic to dynamic and vice versa. (I cant change the drive letters...plus there arent any assigned)
In computer management, one of my other drives shows as Basic Partition, and says healthy. The other drive it says Dynamic, and then Unreadable.
The wierd thing is, when i put my old primary HD back in the comp, I can see and access all the drives again. 2/12/2006 12:33:42 PM |
