I want dual monitors but im considering a really nice D-Sub LCD than buying two cheaper Analog LCDs. Is there a huge difference between D-Sub and Analog pic quality and such?

Yea, I have a dual head card with DVI on one and Analog on the other, and side by side (19" lcds) its very noticeable.

agreed, i have the same setup, and you can really tell a difference

BUT, given the choice of two analog monitors vs one DVI I would go for the dual monitor setup every time. 2X screen real estate >>>>>>> quality difference between analog and digital

Yea, go dual. What good is quality if you spend all your time shuffling windows to get things done?

Yes there is a VERY noticeable difference between analog and DVI if they are side-by-side. Docking station with one analog and one dvi ... use the dvi on my primary and analog on the secondary.

Depends on how often you use the second monitor as to whether to go for the one or the two. I'd personally go for the nice DVI and keep the old CRT. Still dual, sorta. Again, depends on how frequently and for what purposes you would use the second one.

ill sometimes hook my powerbook up to the analog input of my dell LCD (since the dvi is hooked into the computer) and i can really tell the difference when i flip back and forth between the two inputs

dvi ftw

You will immediately see a difference in the color definition, among other things. DVI is better than analog, just like component is better than RCA.

Despite the original creator getting the terminology wrong, I think it's pretty obvious what he was asking

I also have a dual head card. This screenshot was taken when connected through DVI:

And this one was taken when connected through analog:
