said hes a PG but would rather play SG, and can pass like no one else on the team, should replace Evtimov in that respect. 2/17/2006 2:24:29 AM |

yeah watched it in IE. wow he has good court awarness, can catch and shoot really well, and did you see where he launched some of those. some of them were like 5 ft behind the arc. he seemed to have good ball control, can draw attention for double teams and then dish it to his teammates, and can create a shot off the dribble. i kind of wish i could just go spy on a practice to see what him, and fells, as well as costner, when he gets fully over his injury, can do. we got a taste of what fells can do during the Red/White game, during the early part of the season, and last night. 2/17/2006 2:35:16 AM |

Fells impresses me. He gets low on defense and is very keen on ball awareness when his person doesnt have the ball...not to mention the kid can jump...hes one of the best athletes Herb has ever had...cant wait to see him and Trevor throwin some Alleys...I will see if i can find it again but had some footage from Pitt where Trevor was throwin Alleys to one of his guys, it was crazy how perfectly it was done...looks like he should be money at the 3 to replace Bethel this year with his high %, i like it. 2/17/2006 2:39:05 AM |

where is this kid from and how did we get him?
this is the first i've heard of him, but he definitely looks like a solid guard and a good shooter. 2/17/2006 3:15:49 AM |

he originally committed to Pitt, but didn't like it there i guess, and transferred here. he enrolled this semester and will be eligible to play come next January or so i've heard. he gets to practice with the team and sit on the bench with the team. i predict this to happen: he goes off in the Red/White game and shows the fans what he can do, thus building up excitement. the fans can't wait to see him in an actual game. from there on it's all up to him to run with it.
^ Bill Walton had some pretty crazy, long hair, and he did alright.

the only weakness i saw with him is that he was pulling up in the lane instead of looking for a teammate in several scenario's. yeah he got lucky and made the shot but it is his highlight video. in the acc he is not going to be able to pull up like that w/o getting his shit blocked, but other than that he seemed to be able to pick out the open guy and then catch and release very well. i've heard a lot of comparison's to evtimov but he seemed more agile. i wish they had some footage of how well he played defense 2/17/2006 4:25:05 AM |

he's not going to be able to pull off some of those crazy/sloppy ass finishes in the ACC, but damn if the guy didn't impress me. Besides having a pretty shot, he just seems to have the "it" factor going for him. But I really fear how life on the road is going to be for this guy -- fans are gonna go at him ruthlessly. 2/17/2006 4:47:23 AM |

def got better through each video. Has the shoot-the-3-and-run-back-to-defense that we implement so well. 2/17/2006 6:18:49 AM |

looks like he can get some seperation shoot off the dribble, something that most of our guys are unable to do.
then again, the highlight video doesn't show his misses. 2/17/2006 6:39:54 PM |

I've heard lots of good things about him from our practices...he's running point for our scout team and is tearing shit up
He cant start playing for us until December or January next year though, I believe
I met him one night at a friends place, and he definetly doesnt look like he would be as good as he is. He might be skinny as a rail, but he's athletic as hell, last season he broke both of his wrists slamming the ball

I think he sits on the bench now because there is a skinny guy with blondish - redish hair in a sweatsuit jumping up for timeouts and stuff off of our bench... He looks really young, but so did Brackman when he first got here...
Bottom line: he can shoot, he can penetrate, he can pass, he can dunk, he can dribble, but can he play D in the ACC? 2/18/2006 10:37:28 AM |

No.
He broke his wrists during his first senior year in HS and missed the rest of the season, which is why most schools dropped out from recruiting him. He got an extra year of eligibility, played well, signed with Pitt without ever taking a visit there. Got to Pitt during the summer, hated it, decided to transfer before the season started. 2/18/2006 11:37:11 AM |

Do you really think that a frosh can come in and burn the nets like bethel is this year? Herb isn't know for giving freshman a lot of playing time. 2/18/2006 3:35:56 PM |
Brass Monkey All American 13560 Posts user info edit post |
yeah but isn't he practicing with the team right now. he might be a freshman, but then again he kind of won't because he'll have already had a year to learn the system. the only thing he'd be lacking is playing time. 2/18/2006 3:39:37 PM |

1.) hes not a freshmen 2.) hes practicing with the team 3.) I've played with the kid and shot around some...his misses are Rare 4.) Bethel has done just that...comin on as a transfer, sittin a year out basically and then rippin teh nets 5.) profit 2/18/2006 3:50:48 PM |

no, im right. he's a good defender, not a great one. Against the great guards in the league, he sucks. Against normal guards, hes good. Fortunately for him, a bunch of great guards left last year.
You are a complete idiot if you think he can match up against fast, athletic guys. They have either run by him or jumped over him. 2/19/2006 3:48:16 AM |
