Not Joey Cheeks, there's another guy I cant remember his name. He won gold in the 5000. They got into an argument about the relay and I think the black dude quit cause of that guy's comments about him. Thats what this whole business is about. It has nothing to do with Davis being a badass. It has to do with him hating this other dude...I think.

if you're a prominent athlete, especially one who's just won olympic gold, and you get up there and don't say anything in an interview which is basically a victory lap afterwards, you're going to come across as an asshole. period.

and if he did bail on his relay teammates four days beforehand with no prior warning, then he is an asshole. period.

I'm telling you, I think he fully intended to skate the relay. He made it public that he wasnt focusing on the relay as hard as he was the individual races, and Hedrick started saying shit about him. I think it escalated and Davis just quit. Either way, Davis is a douche for doing that, but just stating that you're focusing on the individual race more than the relay isnt enough to warrant trash talking from a team mate. They're both at fault, and this is what the whole thing is about.

from what I read yesterday he -did- show up for his interview and stayed even after it was supposed to be over ot talk to the media. but he was definnitly stoic and an ass, I can't blame him if I caught that uch shit I'd be on the defensive as well


ya he was being a prick and not doing the "team" thing, but sprinters do this all the time in the summer olympics. we just have an abundance of talent in sprinting so it's not noticed as much.

This is what Hedrick said when Davis said he was not going to race in the pursuit because he wanted to focus on his individual events
