The shackles i bought from tractor supply used pins. I want bolts. The highest grade they had was a grade 8, the bumper they are going on is attached to the frame using grade metric grade 10.9. How does a standard grade 8 compare to a metric 10.9? Are the 8s plenty strong for holding the shackle under heavy loading?
[Edited on February 19, 2006 at 6:37 PM. Reason : nevermind the comparo question, apparently 10.9 metric is the the same as a 8 standard.] 2/19/2006 6:30:25 PM |

You are absolutely correct about SAE Grade 8 vs Metric 10.9
And yeah, they'll be plenty strong. 2/19/2006 7:20:21 PM |
