Quote :
"Former North Carolina State coach Mike O'Cain was in Blacksburg on Thursday to interview for one of the assistant coaching vacancies on Virginia Tech's football staff.

O'Cain, who served as an assistant coach under Tech coach Frank Beamer at Murray State, figures to be a strong candidate for the Hokies' quarterbacks coaching position, from which Kevin Rogers resigned six weeks to take a similar post with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings.

O'Cain most recently served as Clemson's offensive coordinator before he was fired following the 2004 season.

O'Cain was out of coaching last season and spent some of his time serving as color analyst on the Hokies' football playback telecasts.

Tech has two assistant positions to fill on its staff. Wide receivers coach Tony Ball left Tech earlier this week for an assistant's post at Georgia."

O'Cain is like the freshman slut at a frat party. He just keeps getting passed around to all the teams in the ACC.

He was a good QB coach. It was a mistake to make him a HC. He couldn't motivate a man dying of thirst to take a sip of water.

Exactly. Remember when he hired that professional motivator onto the staff? Thats suppose to be one of the primary jobs of a college head coach.

We make fun of him often but lets remember that his ACC record was nearly identical to Chucks right now..

I didn't think he was that bad of a coach for where our program was at that time (with NO facilities to speak of)..

^ Amato doesn't have the luxury of playing a weaker ACC or Duke every year like MOC did.
