I appreciate the unexpected endorsement.

While this vote of confidence was not requested, I must admit that I would gladly take on and faithfully carry out the duties if appointed.

I should first point out that I will not be making any repetitive threads begging to become a moderator. I didn't even make this one (and I won't continuously BTTT it, for that matter). If it happens, it happens, but I don't expect much and therefore have little fear of failure in making such a request.

I know that I am not a member of the original Wolf Web establishment (circa 2000), and that I have not done anything here to make myself particularly well-known. There are, however, a few points I wish to make to substantiate my case.

At any rate, I think I possess the levelheadedness and discriminating nature to be a good candidate for such a position. There are a few things which I feel have no place in Sports Talk. Aside from the obvious unrelated material, I would look particularly unfavorably upon the following:

- "Fire Herb" banter outside the limits of the designated thread
- Gambling-specific posts (anything other than citing the spread for informational purposes) outside the limits of appropriately-designated threads, as I feel such posts detract from the enjoyment of those of us that watch sport for sport's sake.
- Blatant Pro-UNC or Pro-Duke trolling (with trolling emphasized -- i.e. not just stated support)

A more detailed platform could be generated upon request.

I have nothing bad to say about CarZin, but like most of the older moderators, he has moved on to "the real world" and does not frequent TWW as he may have in days gone by. If he is willing to have an assistant, I am up for the challenge.

I believe I am a well-rounded poster, and consistent above all. For your reference, here are my post history graphs (current as of today) as provided by qntmfred's script:







As you can see, my posts are well-distributed, with Sports Talk dominating of late. I average a very reasonable 8-10 daily posts, and try to post at least SOMETHING every day. The exception, as you will note on the final graph is an approximately 25 day span from two summers ago when I was hiking in the Cascades.

I fully expect some users with whom I have had issues in the past to voice their detractions, but I would also appreciate posts of support if anyone feels so moved. Again, this will not make me or break me, but I would be willing to help out, and feel that I could be a positive force for change around here. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

^^Uh, I realize that the current job is perhaps sub-standard, but I don't think that's a reflection of him as a person. He tries, he just doesn't have the time anymore (as I already stated). The point is, if I can't get this without attacking others, then I don't want it. We already have the other 99.9% of TWW dedicated to those ends.

I don't deserve to be a moderator because I'm not openly calling someone else out? I'm sure you can come up with better reasons than that.

Look folks, I don't have the notoriety of a jackleg or a marko. I don't see how making a bid for mod with no justification whatsoever could possibly be any more fruitful. If you want to just maintain the status quo and let Sports Talk continue to deteriorate, continue to do nothing. I am ready and willing to address the problem when you change your minds. It's that simple.

And for the record, I don't want this to turn into the inevitable pissing match that I know it will.

"LIKE" = Similar, but not the same = Case-by-case evaluation

Suspend in this case, perhaps not in others -- depending on circumstances and specifics.

I support any candidate that ensures starting threads like "David Noel is a stupid nigger" is met with a bucket and a long-term suspend/ban. It might be typical bullshit for TWW but looks extremely ignorant to anyone who just happens to drop on by.

Yea seriously. I for one don't like the redneck stereotype my alma mater gets. Yet these fuck sticks always say stupid things like that thinking it actually adds to Sports Talk. I don't care if it is in Chit Chat because that waste of space is there for a reason.
