Is there a train that goes from Raleigh out to the mountains anywhere? Boone, or Ashville, or anywhere else?

The amtrack stays in the piedmont, doesn't it?

And I do have a car, I just have always wanted to go on a train ride. I think thats a good distance too, I don't know about taking it to New York or anything...

i don't know if these guys are trolling or just being smart, but no, there are no trains to the mountains. Besides Tweetsie Railroad, I haven't seen a train track within 30 miles of Boone. And unless you want to hop on a cargo train, I seriously doubt you can get to Asheville.

yes, the national rail system is entirely contained within a third of our state.
If you can't bother to look at the routes, you must not want to ride the train very much
