i didnt have any problems besides the radial one. i forgot how to find that Tso. i found the q etc. so hopefully ill get some decent credit.
the last one first glance was hard but then i realized it was the exact same as what sid did, just deltaZ and radiation instead of convection but you did it the same exact way 3/2/2006 5:50:27 PM |

For the first one, use the chart on page 133. It has the formulas for temperature distribution and heat transfer, you just have to plug in the values.
For the third one, use the same chart but this time for an infinite fin and find the temperature distribution for both rods. Solve each of these equations for x and set them equal to each other. The h, P, and A will cancel out and you can find Kb.

Anyone else notice how the entire class has pretty much turned against him now.
I'm just mad that he did evaluations when about 85% of the class didn't show up one day. Go figure he knew what would happen if he waited until one of the days when everyone goes. 4/26/2006 1:40:57 AM |

Hopefully we can easily finish the test in 3 hours. 5/2/2006 10:14:05 PM |
