WHY this band doesn't have more attention I still can't understand...and this new album is one more reason I consider them one of metal's most underrated bands. The Black Waltz is old Kalmah with a heavier death metal influence than before...the same great guitar work and matching synths, but now with a death-growl, blastbeats, heavier double bass, and even more intensity (read: epic, heavy as hell)fucking awesomeif you're a Kalmah fan, you'll love this album. There's no mistaking that it's still the Kalmah we've always loved, but now with even more diversity. If you haven't heard them before, this would be a good album to start with. Think Children of Bodom + Dark Tranquility + Dimmu Borgir + Bloodbath + Hypocrisy[Edited on March 2, 2006 at 8:25 PM. Reason : .]

haha, true...but the hit a little of eachI'd consider them mainly CoB + DT, then a little of the Gothenburg side of Hypocrisy, then a little of the orchestral side of Dimmu and some of the heaviness of Bloodbath

yeah the swamp thing is kinda weird, but at least it's different. i can see where people would pass them off as a CoB clone, there are a looot of similarities, but there's also enough different about them that they are definitely a unique band...especially after this album, maybe it's the break they needthe cover for the new album is bad ass[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 11:36 AM.
