I just got back from the game and I have to say I respect Grants play a lot more after today. Him and Benerman did not give up while the rest of the team fucking sucked.

I should amend my statement to say that Bennerman played pretty hard as well, but since my buddy HowCanThatBe quoted it, I'll leave it.

I could not believe that they said Simmons was "not feeling well" at the start of the second half. If he's so exhausted he needs an oxygen mask, I understand. If he's vomiting on the court, I understand. Otherwise, look at the fact that Evtimov is going to get raped by Williams on every possession and get your ass on the court.

I trashed Grant off-and-on during the year when he was a turnover machine, but the way he's played the past 2 games has really showed me alot and stopped me from considering talking trash about him. He has really shown he has heart and wants to be a leader for this team. I expected today's performance from Bennerman, because he's a competitor and coming off an injury wanted to take control of the game.

And if you didn't expect to see Simmons having a TERRIBLE game you haven't watched all season, he had 2-3 big games and then the rest he's been quiet. He is over-rated and ANY talks of him going pro should have been silenced by now. He isn't strong enough, not truly an offensive threat(some-what because of our offense, but not completely), and has terrible hands.

But as poorly as Simmons played, I'm almost more disappointed by Brackman. He use to be a spark to our team off the bench, would come in and be aggressive and give a bigger body down low, but the past few weeks(since baseball began) he just hasn't been the same player.

Yeah, I was about to say...

One thing about Simmons: he has clearly not been playing basketball since he was a kid. I suspect that once he started to show some sign of getting tall, they tried to develop him as a player. The way he gets disoriented under the basket and travels randomly is what makes me think he was not born a basketball player.

Brackman needs to go back down to his playing weight from last year. Sure, he's a bit more explosive when he feels like it now, but he gets tired and lazy VERY quickly and stops going after rebounds, followed shortly by having to sit for ten possessions. The extra weight/muscle/something has also made his pitching wonky. VINTAGE BRACKMAN, COME BACK!

Last year, Brack played with great instincts. He always found a way to be in the right place to get a loose ball or make a quick shot. Lots of speed, but instead of trying to be another Evtimov, he added weight instead.

And now, it's almost the end of the season, and his conditioning is getting worse rather than better.

Simmons really doesn't have great hands.
a.) he can't catch rebounds
b.) balls often swatted out of his hands
c.) often mishandles incoming passes(when he rarely gets them)

Plus his dunking problem that shows up 2-3 times a year, haha.

But yeah, he really wasn't helped early in his life to learn the sport. I saw something that said he learned to play watching the NBA and NBA videos and practicing(without a coach or teacher) on a basketball court that was half concrete, half sand. He really is raw talent that is really behind the learning curve, but with a lot of work and good teaching he could turn out to be a great player.
