4 boys in what is essentially a 2-seater driving ~115mphthat's a bad mix
3/6/2006 10:15:18 AM

3/6/2006 11:51:00 AM
i was driving on the bypass that night (little bit before 1am) and i saw four crown vics blocking off the poole rd exiti thought they were just trying to keep people alert/slow down (i was driving 8x mph )
3/6/2006 11:51:14 AM
haha yeah, i was wondering what the hell was going on. i was coming out of raleigh, and it looked from my ramp like a damn roadblock.... needless to say, i dropped the speed down quite a bit myself.

The parents have to be feeling pretty bad right about now. Why give your KID a car that will go that fast in the first place?? I had to work to earn the money to buy my car, and I took better care of it. Kids today are too damn spoiled and have no responsibility.

Some of you guys are assuming the parents are immediately guilty for buying the vehicle. I knew a guy in HS who saved up like crazy to buy an RX and finally got it his senior year. Probably not a typical case, but don't make preemptive judgements right off the bat.Any updates to the story yet?

they're still dead.
3/6/2006 12:51:39 PM

because i haven't died yet from doing something, it won't kill me!

I work with the sister of one of the guys killed in the crash. Horrible situation for all of those involved.
3/6/2006 1:44:03 PM
3/6/2006 1:53:04 PM
uh clearly this kid COULDN'T handle the car at that speedguessing most kids couldn'tgreat to hear that you could have though
3/6/2006 1:55:05 PM
i was just trying to be annoying, but what you said, they could have easily said as well. "I've never had a problem driving at 115 mph before!"
3/6/2006 1:55:34 PM
Thats a wicked ramp too. I couldn't imagine getting on it at 100+mph
3/6/2006 2:03:45 PM
^^ sounds remarkably like how theduke866 rationalizes his habit of excessive speeding[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 2:05 PM. Reason : s]

Wasn't there some state that tried to pass a law where if the driver was under 18 they could only have one other passenger under the age of 18? Their reasoning was that the hotdog/showoff factor goes up with each unsupervised teenage passenger in the car.
3/6/2006 2:17:58 PM
3/6/2006 2:19:52 PM
^^ There's something similar in this state. A driver with a permit can only have one unrelated person in the car when he/she is driving, or something similar.[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 2:20 PM. Reason : +^]
3/6/2006 2:20:29 PM
rich kids dying = i'm not crying.
3/6/2006 2:44:28 PM
professional race car drivers crash all the time............this means anyone in a normal car who drives over 100mph is an idiot.

3/6/2006 3:32:33 PM
I'm not sad for them because they were driving 105-110 miles per hour ON AN EXIT RAMP.
3/6/2006 3:33:47 PM
OMFG THEY DESERVED TO DIE BECAUSE THEY WERE SPEEDING yes, they were speeding, and yes, it was the driver's fault, but fuck every single one of you mother fuckers that think "HE DESERVED TO DIE" He was a fucking kid who made a mistake that cost him his (and 3 of his friends) life. it's a shame he couldn't learn from his mistake.]
3/6/2006 3:36:14 PM
4 less stupid people in the world.
3/6/2006 3:41:47 PM
I didn't say they deserved to die. Mistakes are running a redlight... accidently.. Going 105-115.. nearing twice the speedlimit on a highway, coming off an exit ramp... is not a mistake.
3/6/2006 3:42:40 PM
That is a wicked ramp they were on, it can come up kind of fast...however theres no excuse for driving that fast...I hope their families get through this alright, sucks to see shit like this.
3/6/2006 3:43:22 PM
3/6/2006 3:43:29 PM
that's ok, he's poor, so nobody cares what he thinks about rich kids
3/6/2006 4:48:23 PM
4 people killed because of one persons bad judgement will always suck. But honestly how many people here have shown off in there car with their friends riding around with them. I guess the rest of us are just lucky. The sad thing is we will never know why he was driving so fast. Perhaps someone in the car was injured and he was trying to get him help? just a though.
3/6/2006 4:54:46 PM
The RX8 is too much of a piece of shit car to go 115 around a turn.
3/6/2006 5:01:11 PM
^haha yea right, unless they were injured from hitting the gravity bong too hard
3/6/2006 5:01:44 PM
they were drunk
3/6/2006 5:04:30 PM
3/6/2006 5:07:00 PM
they were drunkand they are deadluckily they had teethin their heads
3/6/2006 5:08:25 PM
I've been over 100 in a 1987 Accord and I bet it was a hell of a lot more dangerous than doing it in an RX-8. What does it matter that it's a nice car or a sports car. They could have done the same thing in just about any shitbox and y'all wouldn't be having the "sports car" discussion.
3/6/2006 5:43:40 PM
If they are dumb enough to drive 115 off the ramp, then they deserve to die. Like I said, 4 less stupid people in the world.
3/6/2006 5:45:43 PM
Yeah, because all 4 of them were driving when it happened.
