I've been poking around the offical site of the elder scrolls and now I'm highly anticipating the release of the 4th chapter, "Oblivion". This game is the follow up to the highly popular "Morrowind" from 2002. I personally will be picking it up for the PC but it comes out on the Xbox 360 as well. A few of my most wanted features are:
1. Graphics second to none. This game is cutting edge and employs HDR to the fullest. 2. Fully spoken dialogue. Patrick Stewart is the man. 3. New combat system. Real time and player skill based system. 4. Sheer size and scope
Anyone else interested anticipating March 21st? 3/6/2006 9:55:33 PM |

hahahahahah
let the pc gamers have their fun, cause all they can brag about are fps's, when the only thing that makes a pc fps better is the precision with the mouse. 3/22/2006 2:44:01 PM |

And the mouse is also why you'll pretty much never see a good turn based strategy or real time strategy game on a console either. Not to mention that stuff like the TES construction kit is only availible on the pc too. 3/22/2006 3:13:50 PM |

but who plays those kinds of games?? lets face it, if you are satisfied with a 360 or a pc, you are satisfied. however, there is a whole lot more varieties of games fit to play on a console than a pc. and the good thing is that we console gamers still get to enjoy fps's, rts's, rpg's etc etc. if i had the money, i would def get a gaming rig, but honestly, i have played fps's on a pc, and i will admit, the mouse makes the game more accurate, but thats about all that makes the pc version better. it is worth mentioning that pc games can get more mods than console games, which are cool, but probably not many people care about mods though. 3/22/2006 3:32:28 PM |

Except that alot of people buy games like morrowind and oblivion on the pc simply because they've got alot of the tools to create an entirely new game. I'm not saying the 360 isn't a better deal by far, just that the pc side of things has a bit more than just an interface device going for it. 3/22/2006 5:24:29 PM |

in something like morrowind the precision controls really isnt a selling point either. the only time i get annoyed is archery and really long range spells, but they are pretty forgiving eitherway.
i also dont see how turn-based strategy is ANY better on a pc. have you played advance wars. one of the better turn based out and it works on a handheld. 3/22/2006 6:24:39 PM |

Haha, that's not at all the kind of game I meant by turn based strategy. I'm talking about more complex games like civilization, gallactic civilizations II, heoroes of might and magic (well that one's not so complex), etc.
Although, that game is closer to alot of PC caliber turn based strategy games than almost anything else on consoles. The only reason it works as well as it does though is that it's on a system with a touch screen and boils alot of things down to mini-games.

Meh, you still won't see games like "galactic civilizations II" appearing on the xbox 360. Of course... nobody needs a gaming rig to play those really do they. 3/22/2006 7:56:47 PM |

enjoying it so far. runs pretty well on a 3 ghz 1gb x1300 machine.
main quest looks like it might be shorter than morrowind, world is even bigger, good voice acting and story, several playability improvements like constant sneak mode and backstabbing bonus damage. 3/22/2006 11:34:02 PM |
