Suggestions to do when you visit?
I've bene to st thomas and aruba before, but I am interested in hearing what others recommend when visiting the islands.
Recommendation I've heard so far: Barbados: see the green monkey? Dominica: go to the waterfalls 3/9/2006 2:17:31 PM |

St. Thomas - Coki Point. Has excellent snorkeling and pretty beach/views
Barbados - Walk around Bridgetown, Paradise Beach - great snorkeling, not too many people, pretty white, sandy beach. Harrison's Cave
Aruba - Father Piet Cave and Rincon Beach for snorkeling. Tons of dive locations as well along reefs and shipwrecks. Several nice beaches - Malmonk, Eagle, Palm, etc. Some neat rock formations and stuff too - natural bridge, ayo, and others.
Dominica - sorry, haven't been 3/9/2006 2:40:29 PM |

If you go to St Thomas, immediately get on a ferry to St John and never go back. The Red Hook ferry is faster and cheaper than the one in Charlotte Amalie.

Supposedly the natural bridge in Aruba collapsed recently. Also, check out the Conchi while in Aruba...it's the natural pool. It's awesome...but part of the fun is getting there...must have 4x4 vehicle or be willing to walk 45 minutes.
Definitely rent your own 4x4...don't take one of those buses where they take you everywhere. 3/9/2006 10:52:15 PM |

st. thomas is a fun island, st. john is more of a natural place. i have been to st. thomas a few times. red hook is fun. i have family on the island. go to the Pour Man's Bar, if you order, say, a gin and tonic they give you a bottle of gin and a bottle of tonic and you pour however much you want. then you have the option to roll dice with the bartender to get the drink for free. there are some good restaurants too. Old Stone Farmhouse is on an old sugar plantation and is amazing. Randy's is good. Oceana is an awesome place on the water. On St. John, you have to go to Chateau Bordeaux and Zozo's. I would highly recommend chartering a boat and island hopping the BVIs for a day or two. Jost van Dyke is awesome, you can go to the Soggy Dollar Bar and Foxy's. Norman Island is fun for the hedonistic boat, Willie T's. Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Tortola are all fun too. If you want to dive, The Caves off Norman Island and the Baths of Virgin Gorda are really cool.
