i can't remember the professors name, but i do remember the first day of class. i was pretty shocked. there were more people in the class than i graduated high school with (alot more). i had no idea how unprepared i was for college at that time.

Man, that semester was so cool because I didn't have any classes before 10:30 am. I did have a 6-7:15 pm class every day but Friday though. I met a couple of my college buddies in that class (they were in my major too).

My friend missed the first two sessions 8 am zoology class her first semester. The next monday she made it to class in the clothes she had won to cantina the night before (animal print tube top and black pants). We framed the notes from the class....

The only legible thing she wrote was a girls phone number. The rest was uneven scribble.

This girl is now in a top 20 medical school.

What a horrible way to start college. Between that class and ENG 101 (w/ a horrific teacher) I wanted to quit school before the 1st semester was done. I had no prior knowledge of Spanish...I transferred 2 (completely BS'd community college) FLS courses in and realized I needed 3, DOH!

That stupid class was the only course I ever took that got me less than a B-. But I deserved an F, phew.

Fall '96 MA 141 with a guy whose name I can't remember, but I did remember that he did a lot of drugs, and was definitely on various shit in class.

He even disappeared for over a week. No notice, no sub. The next time he showed up, his arm was in a sling, he had a neck brace, and various cuts and bruises on his face. His first words, "Ok, so this is why you shouldn't drive drunk." Turns out he was driving home drunk, and went off the road and down an embankment, where he laid unconscious for over a day before he was found.

politics of the environment, or something to that effect, with Dr. Marvin Soroos. I had to drop it because I switched my program concentration. Seemed like a reasonable class, I also agree that it felt awesome walking in to the building with the pillars and bricks for the first time. Not many people, about 30 or so.
