has anyone here ever get the blue screen error when the win xp intallation cd in starting to load.
the error i got was 0x0000007b , which i looked up and it says i may need to scan for viruses, but ive already tried different hard drives and all have the same problem. any advice ? 3/10/2006 2:33:59 PM |

i switched the ram to a new one and checked the fans, but still the error at the same place.

Check the harddrive to make sure it's showing up and pins are set correctly. Also remove any additional HD's you may have added. 3/10/2006 6:31:57 PM |

Try a different CDROM ... IIRC, 7b's are hardware related. If its not the RAM< could be something else.
Also, I did an installation for a friend recently using the same hardware, different CD. I had a burned CD while he had a "genuine" CD ... dunno what happened, but his appeared to be a bum CD. 3/10/2006 6:34:34 PM |
