i woke up this morning and felt like i had some phlem to cough up and when i did there was a little bit of blood with it. i coughed some more up and it was pretty much all blood. i dont feel sick or anything so this kinda took me by surprise. it has been a few hours and it is still happening. anyone know what this could be or if i should be worried?

i was doing this last week... no runny nose or anything just coughing up stuff like u described. im fine now so i dont know that you should be worried.

a lot of times its probably just a slight tear in your throat or something that heals itself...especially if its just plain old red blood....if its dark, coffee looking blood you probably have an ucler

well the doc doesnt think that it is tb she thinks that it is from all the drinking and eating greasy food from spring break caused bleeding in my stomach and that is the blood that is coming up

they took xrays and blood and i find out the results tomorrow and they did a tb test and i find that out tuesday

ill keep everyone updated when i find out more

When the air is really dry, I cough up blood and when I blow my nose, there's blood as well. If you feel ok, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

yeah, I know that. It's actually from your sinuses being too dry and the canals chafing from the dry air that they bleed. But it comes from my throat as well.

becuase its been expectorated. the source isnt your throat, its your sinus -- this is very different then blood from your throat.

got the results from my blood tests and x-rays today and everything was fine there so it is pretty much just the stomach thing mentioned before

It's not a big deal... just an allergic reaction to the conditions is my guess... and the blood prolly came from your nasal cavities... hock it up and keep on truckin' look into Clarinex or Zyrtec. You will likely not die.
