1.) What's the most outrageous pick in a bracket you ever made that pulled through for you...
2.) ...and what is your most outrageous pick this year?

1.) Last year I had Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Sweet 16 and Vermont beating Syracuse in the first round.

2.) Not decided if I will go through with it or not, but I'm thinking Duke will lose in the second round to either George Washington or UNCW.

Duke will not lose to either of those teams

I don't think Duke will lose in the second round.

Unless Pops makes a full recovery, GW doesn't even have a legitimate shot at them.

I'll pick Duke to the Elite 8 but I can easily see them lose in the Sweet 16 too...

1)Ever, probably Gonzaga as a 10 seed to the Elite 8 in 1999. Before anyone had heard of Gonzaga.

2)This year? Either George Mason over Michigan St. or Wichita St. over Tennessee in the second round.

San Diego St. will beat Gonzaga.
Air Force will beat Illinois.

I wish UNCW could somehow beat Duke.

I did pick Michigan State to the final 4 last year.

I didn't think it was that far out there, but apparently a lot of people did...

1) Weber State (must admit that I always pick UNC to lose in the 1st round if they make the NCAAs)

2) This year State goes to the Elite 8 - still haven't decided who they're beating next

1. I rode Kent State to some serious cash a few years ago.
2. I've got Syracuse in the Chamionship game, which I don't think is sooo far out there(see all the other people who're picking that), but there just aren't a lot of good-looking bracket-busters as near as I can tell. UAB had a good look, but I don't see them beating UConn. I've found a few first round upsets, but no one going very deep that shouldn't.

i had syracuse in the final four the year they won

overrated: Memphis, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Florida
sleepers: Syracuse, NC State, Nevada, Wisc-Mil, San Diego State, Georgetown, Bucknell

absurd final four picks that might pay off: Syracuse, UCLA, UNC, Nevada

UNC is overrated - once Hansblow gets called for walking/travelling/skipping their run is done

Michigan State will give them a run for their money in a potential 2nd round.

have you seen michigan state play this year?

or even win for that matter?

they have jeckly and hyde syndrome

as much as i hate UNC and giving them any credit, they are playing excellent basketball

I really don't see Syracuse playing this well long enough to make it that far. And they are not extremely talented.

Same with UNC, except with more talent and more inexperience. They didn't play as well in the UVA and BC games as they did in the last few regular season games. I see Michigan State taking it to them. UNC's little spurt at the end of the year is dwindling.

1) That year Kent State went real far (02 I think), I'd called them to go that far (actually one round farther, but I was already destroying fools in my friends' bracket group by then).
2) I don't think I have any outrageous picks this yr, I'll go do my yahoo bracket then I'll come back & edit this

It's hard to find the long-shots this year, for some reason.

Some of it was that I was prepped to have FSU and maybe Michigan and a few other notable snubs knock off some of the big kids. When they didn't get in, I didn't have my pre-picked upsets in the right set of brackets.

I had the entire final four right on ESPN two years ago when it was GT, Uconn, Duke, and Oklahoma State... that was pretty sweet...but the rest of my bracket wasnt all that great and i had uconn beating OSU instead of GT...

I picked Duke to win it all in '91 and won $100 as a 8 year old in my dads office pool..

oh yeah and i won a small pool in '02 when Maryland won it all...

Nothing really outrageous though.. usually dont do too well cause i tend to overrate teams that went deep in the recent past

i picked UW-milwaukee to win 2 games last year and I think that happened.

and I picked state to beat uconn last year and that put me in like 98th percentile on espn until unc went all the way.

I can't rly remember much else although I did pick quite a few upsets last year, can't remember em.

I had Cincinatti (as a #1) losing to #9 seed UCLA 3 or 4 years back when Cincinatti had DMX aka Steve Logan running the point.

I don't think anyone else in my bracket had that.

Am I the only one that didn't think the West Virginia win over Wake last year was that big of a deal?

That was probably the first "upset" I tabbed last year.

In 1998 I had Utah losing to Kentucky in the Final game. I think Utah was like a 3 seed or something and beat a good Arizona team. I hit the final 4 perfectly that year, with UNC and Stanford, finished in the 99.9 percentile on espn.com

I also had Rhode Island beating kansas back in the 90s. And, of course Weber State beating UNC. Tulsa in the sweet 16 in 2000 and Mizzou in 02 in the elite 8.

This year:
South Alabama over Florida
Seton Hall to the 16
Utah State over Washington
Bradley to the 16
Kent State over Pitt
Michigan State to the 8

Nope.. I picked them in the Sweet 16 as well.

They ended up in the Elite 8, didn't they?

^^oh god, that year almost caused my family to have a collective heart-attack. never did my grandmother, who used to play at URI in the 40s and still follows the teams, expect them to actually get within a minute of the final four before blowing an 8-point lead in 1 min. i thought we were gonna lose her after that one...

Fuck you, Mike Madsen. Fuck you.

in 2003, i had Marquette in the Final Four. I think I also hit Florida getting to the title game in 2000.

my worst pick: calling for Memphis to make the Final Four in 2004.

^^I had West Virginia in the Elite 8 and also had the Weber State win over UNC (that was just wishful thinking though)
