*raises hand* worked for CFA through high school and part of college.

each store is different in what they promote. it annoyed me that they would allow people to solicit information for Pentacostal churches, but wouldnt allow school groups to fundraise on-site. we also hosted a travelling bible school. then again, its private property, they can do whatever they want...i just wish they did more for non-church groups. theyd give thousands to a church, but i could only get a hundred dollars for school arts dept. sponsorship my senior year.

once a manager poured oil on my head and drew a cross with her finger in my forehead, i wanted to leave right then. i mean, i was raised in a church, but wtf mate?

the lady at the cross roads chick-fil-a always tells me to have a blessed day... and i think another person who works there says it sometimes. i believe one of them said they are required to either say have a wonderful day or have a blessed day or some other standardized set of pleasantry options.

I go to the xroads cfa once or twice a week and I've never heard that.

I might just be blocking it out, though.

first off, ive always needed money, quitting was not an option.

if i took it to the only other superior over her, it wouldnt have meant anything. these people go to a church where they speak in tongues all the time, roll on the floor, and scream a lot, like theyll care that she did that. i just avoided her forever after that. the only reason i got the job in the first place was b/c i was working with my best friend.

i was probably being "blessed" anyway.

btw, there is a set list of pleasantries you are told to use:

"my pleasure" every time someone says "thank you"
"its a wonderful/blessed day" when greeting on the speaker
"have a blessed day" when a customer leaves

all this stuff was instated after id been there like 2 years, so its fairly new. oh, and i never once said that shit either.

Who cares? Its not offending anybody. It'd be one thing if they told atheists "Have a nice day, because you'll burn in hell for not believing in God" or something, but I am glad to see some companies don't back down and pussyfoot to the public opinion over something they believe in. As long as the company doesn't offend or discriminate against people for employment or service, then what the fuck am I gonna complain about?

it wouldnt have bothered me so much if they werent members of a christian sect i find downright phony and theatrical.

the sect CFA aligns with the most is the Pentacostals. The owner is one, as is his whole family.

So anyway, vote with your wallet. If somebody poured fucking oil on my head I might hit them. But they've never done that shit to me. And the chicken is fucking delicious. I just went there 20 minutes ago.

btw, it was the Crossroads Chick-Fil-A, they didn't say anything remotely religious to me at the drive through.

I've heard that at the McDonald's drivethru, too - I don't think it's anything to do with Chick-Fil-A, just the person.

The only thing that I notice about CFA is that when you say, "thank you," the answer is always, "my pleasure"

I'd like to say I have political/religious reasons for my boycott, but alas, it's the peanut oil. It'd kill my fiancé. I generally avoid Cookout over this kinda shit, though.

I am an atheist.

I fucking love Chik-Fil-A.

They keep making good chicken, and I'll keep giving them my business. Because I'll be damned if some nuggets and waffle fries don't almost make me believe in God.

yeah.

take it all the way up

you know its their corporate philosophy right?

your oil-annointing manager would get a commendation or something.

its a private company, they can do what they want.

"Our official statement of corporate purpose says that we exist "to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A." That's why we invest in scholarships, character-building programs for kids, foster homes and other community services. Come to think of it, it's also not a bad motive for striving to serve a really, really good sandwich."

Ok, I'm a little curious about those "KFC tortures chicks" pictures up there. What's the background there?

I mean c'mon, they kill them and toss their carcasses into boiling oil, then present them in paper bins for us to consume and toss their bones into landfills. Considering all that, telling me that they were tortured before they were turned into my afternoon meal doesn't really affect my appetite. I'm a carnivore, do I really give a fuck if my meal didn't die a pleasant death?

the ones we eat are kept in cages the size of shoe boxes and pumped full of shit to keep them alive despite the lack of movement

the ones that breed are kep in a constant state of fertility so eggs always be poppin

i think at some point they're going to create a boneless chicken that is formed into a ball, with all the organs collected in the center, that you just have to pit like a peach

i can't wait for that day

woodfoot, I hope you are being sarcastic, because meat chickens are not kept in cages, they are in open buildings, they are not genetically modified or given steriods, and layers are kept in a "state of fertility" by controlling when the lights are on and off. go talk to some people in the poultry science dept. they'll explain it all to you in detail.
