herb is the right fit here but he really needs to dump his offensive scheme and stop recruiting nothing but small forwards year in and year out

he'll never beat duke or unc more then a third of the time since they are the two biggest talent attractors in ncaa right now, but with a point guard like wright, and more big men like simmons he could make a run to the final four

You guys are too young to understand. Many of us wanted him gone after his first class didn't make the tournament. There were a bunch of naysayers like yourselves that said "Don't you want to see what he can do with Hodge!?". Well, we saw. 1 Sweet 16. Thats not good enough. He's had 10 years to work with, thats plenty of time. A Sweet 16 and 0 Championships are all we have to show for it. Chris Wright will fail in this offense. Its boring. Herb will never win here. He needs to go back to a mid-major school.

its not that herb's a bad coach. It's just that he's not the longterm solution that will help us achieve the goals we have set for our basketball program.

I think he's an excellent person, and a strong Div. 1 mid-major coach. Unfortunately for Herb, NCSU's goal is not to be a mid-major team.

Herb is a valedictorian, not an all american

he is so book smart he can draw up some of the best plays and offensive schemes he just doesnt have the IT when it comes to in game scenarios and know the feeling of the game like K did at army and others

if he can figure out that, he will be great

honestly i think he's a good guy and a good coach, but for whatever reason his teams falter down the stretch. running an offense around 3 pointers is fine until they stop falling. i think the additions of guys like grant, bennerman, wright, etc. show that he's starting to understand the need for guys who can create and distribute. i know you guys are sick of him, but from the outside looking in i'm curious to see what he can do with more than one really good player

Like I said, if Herb told me today he was ditching the offense and running the offenses he learned under Pitino, I'd be on the Herb bandwagon again. I don't think he's a good in-game coach, but I think he's a good recruiter and has proven he can build a program. It's the offense holding us back nowadays, not talent or Herb

Trevor has made the statement that Herb is gettin away from the Princeton first Offense and letting them take it on fast break and do what they please, thats why we posted up so well against Duke, but he said that once they are stifled on offense Herb makes them run the old style
