there was a thread about this in Chit Chat. But it wasn't that useful anyway.

To summarize: Raleigh Joe's is owned by the same people who own Q Shack. They will still serve Q Shack bbq, but they will also serve burgers, pizza, subs, etc. The North Hills location will remain a Q Shack. Temporarily closed for renovations, but should re-open soon.

My question is whether they'll still have most of the Q Shack menu, or just a small portion of it...

That is too bad. It seemed to bring in a decent lunch crowd. I still can't believe Starbucks left. There must be a tremendous overhead to have a business on Hillsborough or something.

That Moroccan place has to be on it's way out- it never looks open.

It's the worst BBQ in Raleigh, possibly in the state. And everything else there is pretty shitty too.

But for people without cars who have no clue what good bbq tastes like, I can see how they stay in business.

Talked to a guy who works there. They are going to start delievering food as well as adding the other items to the menu. He even said the owner was thinking about delievering beer as well. Don't know if that will happen but would be sweet.

only good thing about Q shack was the cole slaw and mac and cheese...well that and the hushpuppies, but you have to be retarded to fuck up hushpuppies. meals cost too much. even the "specials" were pricey for BBQ.

What type of BBQ does Q-Shack serve? Eastern NC?

I was pretty sad when Blue Moon closed it's doors. I know it was pricey but it was good stuff to eat every once in a while.

i remember being so excited when qshack opened because bbq was within walking distance to campus...that said i was so disappointed in everything except the hushpuppies basically...maybe its improved over the past 3 years or something? but i only went twice for dinner and then for the hike...

Interesting. Guess I misread initially.

I was brought up on Eastern BBQ before I stopped eating beef and pork and never thought Q-Shack even remotely compared to real BBQ. I enjoyed the sides, though.

Anyone who is saying the Q-shack has the worst BBQ in the State has obviously never tried the BBQ at Fountain dining hall....I remember it being watery and tasted like it had been reheated 3 or 4 times

I found a place that serves Eastern NC BBQ here in Miami. Not as good as the stuff in some joints in NC, but I love it.
