I've been using one for a few weeks (I work fir Cingular) and it is the absolute shit. It is a bit on the big side, but it isnt much bigger than a blackberry.
Here is a video of some cat playing with one:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4067711894905423897&q=8125
We are having a customer appreciation day at the store this Friday the 24th from 9-4 if anyone wants to come check out the 8125 or his little brother the 2125. 96 rock is doing a live broadcast all day and there's free food and sweet prizes. Oh, and NCSU students get $50 off 2-year prices and pay no activation fees

if you like the 2125 just save your money and get the smt5600, the jump to 5.0 isnt worth the extra cost
ah fuck looking at numbers the 8125 is bigger than the treo, thats too big for me but maybe i could just swap the sim into a smaller phone when i need something small... 3/21/2006 9:02:47 PM |

the 2125 absolutely wastes the 5600
that phone is total shit compared the 2125 3/21/2006 9:06:14 PM |

how is the 2125 that much better
i guess edge is nice, but the only other real benefit is the screen and on something this size i cant imagine the increased resolution really being worth the extra cost

it'll be funny to see AT&T destroy the brand that Cingular has built - AT&T is old and stodgy...only thing Cingular has going for it is the youth image of cool phones 3/21/2006 9:17:48 PM |

yeah that thing is absoutely huge - its like holding a brick to the side of your head.
thats why i got the imate jam
(jam in the middle)
you lose wifi but, its a bunch cheaper and MUCH smaller.

^ the jam doesn't, but the new jamin does. (both of these are made by HTC, btw)
and all that in a package much smaller than any other pda/phone on the market (that ive seen)

yeah ive been lookin at the jamin (htc prophet) but its too expensive and i cant find any for sale anyways. also its processor is a little underpowered, im worried about lag with 5.0 and its gotten some poor reviews because of it
first phone i find around $300 that has wifi support and is small enough for my pocket is my next purchase 3/22/2006 11:05:00 AM |

found some apps for 8125 users if anyone wants em
Handango and Pocketgear have a lot of the same products. I've used Handango for many of my of these apps. Some of these are freeware and some are not. After testing I performed a hard reset and settled on these, in no particular order. I also applies several hacks from HowardForums.com links. Enjoy!
Vito Button Mapper - http://www.vitotechnology.com/en/products/buttonmapper.html
MS Voice Command - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/voicecommand/default.mspx
GoToMyPC PocketView - many other remote admin products fail to have such fantastic PDA support - http://www.gotomypc.com
PockeTTY - only SSH tunnelling that supports non-standard SSH port - http://dejavusoftware.com/
Personal Vehicle Manager - for tracking mileage - http://www.twopeaks.com/PVM/pocketpc.aspx
HandyLauncher - http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?platformId=2&siteId=1&productId=84246 HandySwitcher - http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=2C725FC6X689CE1D83CE91FBFDB63ED3&platformId=2&productId=85760 HandyMenu - http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=2C725FC6X689CE1D83CE91FBFDB63ED3&platformId=2&productId=79935
Pocket Informant - what the native Outlook App should be. Highly rated. - http://www.pocketinformant.com/products_info.php?p_id=pi&dir=wm
PocketStreamerDeluxe - good only if you want to hear world news. Not my best purchase, but not too pricey for what you get - http://www.pocketmedialive.com/contents/software/pocketstreamerDeluxe.htm
MemMaid - http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?platformId=2&siteId=1&productId=123995
SpbTime - Nice analog clock for nighttime use and world daylight map, stopwatch, etc - http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/time/?en
Resco Radio/File Explorer/Registry in Resco Media Suite - chose this over similar Spb product - it was too bloated - http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/mediasuite/default.asp
JournalBar - mostly for the weather app - http://www.omegaone.com/journalbar/default.htm
WiFiFoFum2 - One of only two freeware apps that made the cut. Some other freewares do some of the above with varied results. I think the paid apps are (mostly) more stable and better developed. That said, there's a couple hundred bucks above. - http://www.aspecto 4/15/2006 12:45:29 PM |
