I did this last year for the VaTech game. Time to start it up again, now that basketball season is over. Here's to kicking the ever living shit out of a fellow North Carolina team. Also here's to tailgating again. All talk about the team, and the outlook of the season can be put in here as well up until gameday.

the first part of the season actually sets up nicely. we could be 3-0 heading into the BC game, but then the Southern Miss game could be a trap. BC lost their two best players in Blackmon, and Kiwanuka, and might not be able to replicate their 9-win season that they had this past season. this could be a great way to build up and be a possible 4-0 heading into the Thursday night primetime game against FSU. we'll probably lose that game though. we have 5 of our first 6 at home.

We're gonna be fine. We're not "that team with Mario Williams and Manny Lawson" that the nation looked at. IMO, we'll play harder as a TEAM next year since the spotlight will not be on anyone (sucks, but teams play harder without superstars).
RB's are solid, Stone (gulp) SHOULD improve being the starter for all of the off-season and pre-season drills, WRs will be big and fast... Daniel Evans as our #2 QB scares me. I'm thinking Burke doesn't RS this year and sees good time at QB unless Stone's the man all year.
Defense is questionable because of the inexperience, but we still have some players. Corner's should be tough, as well as the safeties. JC Neal, Levin Neal, Jeremy Gray, Garland Heath, Miguel Scott, Jimmie Sutton, Phil Holloman, and DaJuan Morgan aren't bad. Willie Young and Littleton Wright/Ray Brooks/John Wu will be young but talented at DE. The DT's are still tough with Tank, DeMario, Matrel Brown and Alan-Michael Cash.
We'll have some speed on the field as well for special teams.... DeAndre Morgan, Blackman, A. Brown, LaMarcus Bond...
We will finally be entering a season with low expectations which may actually result in better results.
Can't wait for kickoff. Here's to beatin the hell outta App. State!

it looks as though they didn't really take away any student seating, and actually added some. I would have figured that they would have put some students in the NEZ but take some from the SEZ or a portion of the upper deck. 1774 student seats are being put in the NEZ. i know some of the seats on the grass will be taken out, but these will be a lot closer, and right on top of the endzone.
also i started looking at this picture and analyzing it.
now, if you notice the steel rods and how far they come up, then you can estimate and envision where the concourse level will be. it comes pretty much even with the land level seen behind the scoreboard. the bleacher seats that will rise up from above the concourse level will come underneath the scoreboard. so here's my concern, will they have to bury part of the columns currently supporting the scoreboard or will they dig it up and place it higher?

The NEZ shown in that seating chart ^ is not accurate. The student section shown ^ is way too large. Refer to the following links for more accurate seating arrangements: http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/2378925000082214430bLiJha http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/2294712320082214430BOjVGu http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/1519926620082214430AbNvNB
They are making all the bleacher seats in the NEZ student seats (1,994 seats). They are moving the band from the old field house to section 113, and the grass seating will be removed, so that will offset some of the added student seats. But in the end, I think there will be more student seats than there were last year.
This shows the level of the concourse as it wraps around the NEZ: http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/2199361680082214430gOmiyr As for the existing columns for the scoreboard, they're not gonna change them in any way. They'll just be buried below the concourse. (Not "buried" - just below the concrete concourse. I think most of it will just be exposed in the "basement" style area under the concourse.) 3/20/2006 10:45:57 PM |

Andre Brown and Toney Fucking Baker
Plus, DT is still strong, and our Wideouts will be good if these freshman are as nasty as they say (James and Newell).
And....tl....are you sure they're keeping all of the student seating from last year besides where the band sits? I dont know if they will do this, but it makes more sense to sell those seats than the endzone seats. I'd be willing to pay more for a sideline seat than an endzone seat, but maybe thats just me.

Brown and Baker at RB Pressley and Tyler at DT Heppe, Harris, Crouch at OG/C Heath and Scott at S Hill at TE
all damn good. way above average.
The overhead seating chart I posted came from the WPC ticket brochure, so I would assume that it's actually accurate (considering how many variations of seating charts the WPC puts out, I'd be surprised if anyone in that organization actually knows the truth). I think that all the East/South seats that were students last year will still be so.
And apparently, there are actually people who prefer endzone seats to sideline seats. I don't understand why anyone would voluntarily choose to sit in the endzone, but they do exist...

last week's news:
"NC State updated their roster Tuesday as the team began spring workouts on the same day. Among the notable changes:
Reggie Davis is now listed as a fullback. • Junior Darrell Blackman has moved from running back to wide receiver. The move was not unexpected after the emergence of sophomore running backs Toney Baker and Andre Brown last fall. Blackman has nine career receptions for 90 yards. • Senior Reggie Davis is listed as a fullback and is noticeably bigger, checking in at 6-foot-0, 246 pounds. That is 10-pound increase from his listed weight last fall. • Absent from the roster is defensive end Raymond Brooks. The academic status of Brooks for next fall is likely to have a major impact on the depth chart at the defensive end position in 2006. Brooks played well as a true freshman in 2004, serving as the top reserve to the duo of Manny Lawson and Mario Williams. He sat out last season however with academic issues. • NC State will be counting on former junior college transfer Littleton Wright, and he has gotten stronger after redshirting last year. He was 6-foot-6, 230 last fall, and now he is 6-foot-6, 244. • Pat Bedics, who will be a junior after transferring in from Penn State, is listed as a linebacker. He checks in at 6-foot-0, 249 pounds. He is sporting No. 4 these days. • Several other players changed numbers. Junior wide receiver John Dunlap switched from No. 82 to No. 1; junior linebacker Ernest Jones is now No. 5 after being No. 45; junior linebacker Guerlin Dervil was No. 11 and is now No. 35; redshirt freshman tackle Jeraill McCuller, formerly No. 67, is now No. 50. • On the offensive line, sophomore Curtis Crouch is listed at 6-foot-5, 344 pounds, down 10 pounds from when he arrived. Freshman Julian Williams lost 19 pounds to slim down to 6-foot-5, 292 during his redshirt year. Senior Leroy Harris gained five pounds and is now a 6-foot-3, 300-pounder. Junior Kalani Heppe has the same measurables to join Harris in the 300-pound club. • Junior quarterback Marcus Stone is listed six pounds heavier at 236. The two players competing for the back-up jobs are stronger. Sophomore Daniel Evans is listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, a 10-pound improvement, while redshirt freshman Mike Greco is now 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, up from 208 this fall. • Junior tight end Anthony Hill could make a case of being among the biggest at his position in college football. He is up seven pounds to check in at 6-foot-6, 277. His top back-up, sophomore Octavius Darby, is 11 pounds heavier at 6-foot-2, 256." 3/20/2006 11:10:02 PM |

has anyone heard for sure where the marching band will be next year? also i hope the team
continues the tradition of walking down the stands before taking the field out of the tunnel. that
was cool. another thing, we need to pick up the atmosphere at C-F a little. i'm not talking about
being more intimidating, we've already got that down pretty good. i'm talking about making it even
more fun. like for one thing it'd be awesome if the ENTIRE student section did the little dance
for Apache. when we score a touchdown how about we have more students being picked up and
tossed in the air. while BC's atmosphere was definitely lacking i loved how their entire student
section looked like one big wave of bodies after a score, and like most Boston athletic events they
sang "Sweet Caroline." i'm not saying we should go off and sing "Sweet Caroline", but it would be
cool to have a popular song everyone collectively sang. also band members why didn't the student
section concert that you did during halftime of the Clemson game continue on to the other games?
that was a lot of fun, and could have been a great tradition. 3/21/2006 9:32:12 PM |

yeah, that was fun and from what I'm told the band will be moved, but final position has yet to be determined...presumably back down where we want them, with the students...but remember, students will now be on 3 of the 4 sides of the stadium, so the overall atmosphere will rock! 3/21/2006 9:49:19 PM |
