I'm going to europe this summer and am looking for an affordable digital camcorder. I've heard Canon has some good ones in my price range. Any suggestions?

Panasonic is good too.

I would recommend NOT Sony though. Their digital camcorders always seem to have weird picture quality.

Years ago I got a JVC or something instead of a sony. I can't hold my hand still to save my life so it was worthless without a tripod. At the time Sony's steadyshot or whatever was tons better.

I picked up this one back in December. In researching which one to buy, this one was best for the $ according to Consumer Reports:
