yea they just talked about it on Around the Horn...it's a good point that Brees going to the Saints and some other QB moves are a major reason for this drop, but it still seems like a team would be able to trade down and allow a team later in the draft going for a QB to take him sooner because he should still be worthy of a top 10 pick 3/22/2006 5:30:52 PM |

His stock definitely hit its peak after the National Championship game and has been an extremely slow decline, but a decline nonetheless.
I'd have to say I'd be at least a little apprehensive if I was a GM thinking about using a top 10 pick on him. 3/22/2006 6:03:48 PM |

More like nosedive.
It's possible the Cardinals might take him at 10, but it just doesn't seem like any of the teams ahead of them would pick him up, especially considering everything that's gone to drop his stock between the NC game and now.3/22/2006 6:35:07 PM |

It will be a good thing if he does drop. Chance could land him on a potentially better team, kinda like it did Big Ben!!
I would hate to see him get destroyed on some sorry ass team. Then every one would be like "see I knew he would be a busts" 3/22/2006 7:22:14 PM |

I wish he would drop to low first round so the Panthers could pick him up.... Wait, they would pass and pick up some no name from BYU or some place.

Doesn't matter if they don't have anyone to throw the ball.
Brunell is a walking crutch, and at least they finally got rid of Ramsey. He's awful 3/22/2006 8:00:49 PM |

The PTI guys also mentioned that these rumors are floated around on purpose to try and get possible deals going. Teams are trying to play politics. First team to backstab another team wins. 3/22/2006 9:02:02 PM |

The Raiders won't be taking him now either it seems, which leaves only the Titans and Jets in the Top 10 who would realistically be looking for a QB (though the Jets did just get Ramsey, so they might not even be interested anymore). 3/23/2006 6:01:07 PM |

I think the Titans are going to take Cutler. Cutler has more than likely moved ahead of Young in just about everyone's projections.

I don't understand how all the reports conflict with one another...the reporters on talk shows say his stock is falling...then the reporters at texas who watched his workouts say he did great.
The Titans had their private workout with him, and it confirmed what they had been thinking...that he is still probably on the top of their list. There is definitely a chance that the Titans would take Cutler to go with the hometown boy, but based on how Fisher and Reese of the Titans have been talking, they are still favoring Young.

a 15 on the wonderlic ON HIS SECOND TRY.
i would take vick over him, and vick has yet to win an important game.
the fact is that quarterbacks have to throw and they have to make decisions. Vince Young cant make decisions and he would rather run than throw. he will throw up amazing numbers, get rich, and never win a championship. 3/25/2006 1:07:32 PM |

^^I understand what you're saying, I just hope you aren't basing that too much on that score. It's fair to say that he would rather run than throw, but I think he will change. I think he fits with the Titans after he has been working with McNair so much. And look how McNair developed from a runner to one of the better pocket passers in the league as he showed with his Co-MVP season.
The point is, Vick hasn't shown me enough signs that he will change...I think the Titans will be focusing on letting Young run, but making sure he develops into a better decision maker as a passer like they did with McNair. That's why I think he fits best with them. 3/25/2006 2:29:05 PM |

Don't kid yourself, Young will be picked 7th by the raiders, assuming Cutler & Leinart go the Titans & NYJ. Aaron Brooks is not the answer.
And if one of the big 3 makes it 10th, AZ would likely pick him.

I think there is a big difference between Young/Vick and guys like McNair. Its not just that he scored lower than a 5 year old could on the test, its that he seems angry every time someone questions his ability. Having a chip on your shoulder is fine. It can give a good player an edge. However, being too dumb and stubborn to change is the best way to ensure failure in the NFL.
Then again, maybe I am just mad because Lendale white wont be dropping to the steelers. 3/25/2006 8:01:33 PM |
