I have so many vices... But I'm completely against betting.
Don't get me wrong, I don't judge those of you who do bet... but I can't do it...
If my mom was a senior partner in a CPA firm and she had been buying me in for years, I might have even stopped her and boycotted the contest.
I don't know what it is and like I said, I don't judge or care. It's just not me. 3/25/2006 10:21:35 PM |

Gambling is so complicated. For me, the cumpulsion started only after I won. 3/25/2006 10:34:55 PM |

^^why would anyone be compelled to betting after they lost? 3/25/2006 10:52:10 PM |

^In my mind, it's because of the possiblity of winning...
Again (or however), it's ridiculously complicated for each individual.
I have an uncle who lost his house on lottery tickets. Yes, you read me right, lottery tickets...

The reason gambling is so addictive is precisely because it doesn't always pay off.

I bet for fun, yet I don't consider myself a gambler. I don't like slot machines, I don't buy lottery tickets, and I would only go to a Casino for its food and beer. I have a limit of $50 per bet and most of the time is in a work pool. I win some lose some but it's just for fun it makes games a little more interesting. I have to say I won alot of money with the panthers this football season. Heartbreaker with Seattle but I still came out on top $100. 3/26/2006 1:25:10 AM |

if you spend hours a week following a sport or team, it definitely makes sense to bet on them if you can do well
it's exactly the same as people who watch cnbc religiously and make investments based on that, except sports are actually interesting
