When a "no-name" college wins the tourney, does their stock go up in the draft regardless of their season %'s? If so, is it a considerable amount?
I'm just wondering if the GM players would be gobbled up by the NBA if they win the tourney. How does this work traditionally? 3/26/2006 5:05:46 PM |

i'm pretty sure all of these guys will be the most popular insurance agents in whatever communities they settle in
hell, there are plenty of guys on big conference team national champs who don't play pro ball 3/26/2006 5:07:55 PM |

I remember going to the UNCW George Mason CAA championship game a few years back, final score was 35-33. George Mason and UNCW arent nobodies in basketball anymore and won't ever be again. 3/27/2006 12:28:07 AM |

I think that Tony Skinn has a legitimate chance to make an NBA team, maybe Jai Lewis on the RIGHT team, they probably won't get drafted but could try out and make it. 3/27/2006 1:03:51 AM |

There's obviously a lot of talent on this team. Not necessarily anyone who's right for the NBA, but it's still good to see that they earned some exposure. 3/27/2006 2:09:29 AM |

^ That makes no sense. It takes a lot of talent to be tops in the Big East and get to the Elite 8. 3/27/2006 2:16:32 AM |

If George Mason wins it all, the answer to "Was 1983 NC State or 1985 Villanova the biggest cinderella team ever?" will be resolved. 3/27/2006 6:13:42 AM |

^^ true, '83 and '85 were both special, but if GMU does it you have to put them on top 3/27/2006 7:25:24 AM |

yeah that is so true, because while GMU won the regular season CAA title UNCW won the garantted bid with the confernece championship making them one of the at-large bids that had to be invited in against some of the other mid-majors and weaker major teams. 3/27/2006 7:31:18 AM |

^that, and the fact that they're george mason
58% of the vote on espn wants gmu to go all the way, i'm surprised it's not more than that
yeah this would blow '83 or '85 away in terms of probability 3/27/2006 7:44:20 AM |

damn right, I don't want a fucking SEC team to win it all.
And UCLA has enough goddamn banners already.
Thus, Go GMU! 3/27/2006 8:18:58 AM |

but listening to the sports radio shows last night and today amost make me sick. One guy tried to discredit GMU's wins by saying Michagan St., UNC and UCONN didn't show up in their games thus allowing the Patriots to be where they are now, as if a little thing called defense could have thrown these teams off if that were even the case. It's like you have to be an offensive powerhouse or a team built to win, like Carolina last year and probably UCONN this year in order to go all the way. 3/27/2006 8:31:55 AM |
