Personally I think that the White guy makes a good point, but I guess people are going to say that's because I'm White.

Bruno makes some very good points. I've noticed before that when I took a bad outlook on a particular day, I just simply had a bad day. Racism does exist, but I think the extent of that is limited, and many times it is exaggerated and misused. The Golden Rule was a pretty good example of how to live and receive better and more positive responses from others and enjoy your own life. Regardless of your race or anything else, some people are going to treat you kindly, and some aren't. The better you are towards others and the better you look at life in general, the better off you'll be.

Bruno thinks that if you act nice then nobody will be racist towards you. Brian thinks salesmen that approach him are being racist. They need to find some middle ground because they're both wrong.

Has any other white man here noticed how as you've gotten older, there are less and less black people who give you the old "what's hap'nin?" look with their eyes?

Maybe it's because I don't smell like weed anymore.

Bruno reminds me of Jim's Dad on American Pie.

But anyway, they both have points, but I think Bruno 'won' the argument. But I'm white, so I guess I wouldn't know.

For a lot of situations, Bruno is right (act white, and people won't bother you), but as you saw in the bar and in the line-dancing club they went you, your skin color gets you dirty looks.

However, there were places in the black areas that white people got dirty looks too (however, I have never heard of black people doing black-power marches like they had on the show).

Overall, there's still a lot of racism around, but it seems to be in places you would expect it to be (like a club that has big rebel flags on the wall, or a bar in a predominantly white area). Plus, white people are idiots when it comes to race (the white mom says a lot of dumb stuff, like her "poem").

^ well, I don't think Bruno thought he was "acting white." What he said was something about being respectful for other people and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

bruno seemed very grounded and relatively non-biased until the last show. he started saying some real questionable stuff then and you could tell ppl werent having it. "how long can you blame slavery," and talking about how black kids dont have their dads around just dont come off very nicely no matter how you frame it.

we may all think the white makeup but it fooled that redneck who told the black dad how this was the only "good white neighborhood" left in the city.

i watched that clip, and thought it was a waste of time. i didn't find the host or the guest to be very articulate in terms of racial issues.

i don't think a white person can ever truly know what it's like to be black, nor can a black person know truly what it's like to be white. just like a woman cannot know what it's like to be a man, and vice-versa.

The black illegitimacy rate hovers around 67%.

Right, and somehow Louis Farakan harping about jooz in front of a crowd of blacks doesn't qualify. Somehow when a black minister says the blacks should watch out for blacks first and foremost it doesn't qualify. If a white guys says he's going to shop at white-owned stores then it's racist. I hear this shit all the time from blacks.

Some of the most overtly racist people I've met are black. They're not misunderstood, not disenfranchised--racist.

In my personal life, I recently dated a black girl. While whites sometimes gave strange looks, the only people who said flat-out racist shit were blacks. Not once when I was in a club did I hear a white make a snide comment. I heard that shit all the time from blacks--all the time.

Even better, consider this. Dave Chapelle recently released a movie, in which the rap group Dead Prez performed. In their song "Hip Hop", there were two lines that stuck out:

"Im down for runnin up on them crackas in they city hall."

"Its real hip hop, and it dont stop till we get those crackas off our block."

If the roles had been reversed and it had been country music singer saying, "We gonna run up on all them niggers in prison," there would have been a storm of protest. I have no doubt there would have been a boycott of the movie by many blacks and whites. Most movie theaters would have refused to show the movie. Hell there would have been a Soapbox debate about the movie.

There wasn't a peep about Chapelle's movie.

Let's face it, whites may be racist and they may make snide comments around the dinner table. But in my daily life, the most overtly racist people I've come across are black. I'm guessing that has been the experience of many other people. It's just polically incorrect to admit it.
