Thoughts?
For anyone who has been to the game....for the last two years at least...you know the atmosphere has been awesome. Yesterday was about 10 times better than last year though. It was PACKED, but I think more students could get on the hill.
As of right now, this might be the second best rivalry game we have behind the UNC football game. I give ECU their repect in baseball. They have an asston of fans and a pretty damn good team as well. 3/30/2006 6:26:58 PM |

I like this rivalry, the game atmosphere was awesome and I'm already planning on going to ECU when we play there April 12.

the thing is, there really arent THAT many more state fans, it is more that there are so many ecu fans that makes it packed. 3/30/2006 6:37:55 PM |

^i'm pretty sure the game sold out, so we couldnt even get that many paying fans in.
I dont think they limit the number of students though.
Whatever....we were there with enough force to be loud as fuck at the end of the game. It felt like the end of a close football game...not quite that loud, but it was damn fun.
The fans were better for this game than they were for the GT series, and they were number 1 in the country. 3/30/2006 6:49:28 PM |

^those were my thoughts exactly...and the only explanation for that is people treating it as a rivalry. It was a lot of fun, the best game to be at by far this season and I just hope it's even better when they play here again later in the season 3/30/2006 6:57:38 PM |

btw...for the few fans who did leave early....being down by 4 runs in baseball....especially for this years team....is NOT a huge deficit, even with only 2 or 3 innings left.
This team has some bats, so unless we're getting slaughtered by 10, dont leave in the 5th inning. 3/30/2006 7:05:42 PM |

Yeah, that game was awesome. The games vs. GTech were almost as crowded/fun. Keep coming out the atmosphere is 20x better than it was last year.
Oh and btw... Yell, cuss, scream and be profane... it makes for a fun time..
Even the GTech players and UCLA players responded to Avent's Army facebook group saying that they were glad we "had fans" and that it was more "Fun" playing at Doak than other places. 3/30/2006 7:05:57 PM |

I recall UNC-W being reasonably good. 3/30/2006 7:39:08 PM |

Actually, thank you to those who did leave in the 5th, obviously that brought us luck.... Maybe you shouldn't attend any fball games next year... Just a thought, we need all the help we can get 3/30/2006 8:22:27 PM |

I showed up around 6:50 amd they were NOT going to let me in. They said the student section was "full."
Finally after a few minutes the dumb Event 1 lady got on the radio and they let the big crowd that had built up at the student gate through.
I wouldn't be suprised if they cut off seating on the hill shortly after that, but I don't know if they did or not. 3/31/2006 8:15:02 AM |
