So I think football is the best team sport there is, sue me.

Raleigh has an arena football team now named the Raleigh Rebels, and I support it.

They have a few former NC State players you might want to support as well:

Terrance Chapman
Cotra Jackson
Jeremy Mebane
Shawn Price

The team is currently 3-1 (just suffered their first loss against now 3-1 Richmond Bandits)

Fortunately the team is still in a four-way tie for first place.

Their next home game is April 20. If you want a spotting, I'll be there.

I like Chapman and Price I think they are legit

Cotra Jackson was the most over-rated piece of shit ever. I mean I never heard players talk another player up like they did Jackson. Well, the guy just sucked all around, I don't even know what to say about the guy.

Well, I will get a chance to see how he's doing nowadays on April 20. I'll let you know what I see.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of the former 'Pack' players.

I've gotta convince Willie Wright to go out there and play tight end. I'd be at every game then.

^^ That juggling catch for a TD he had versus UConn was pretty awesome though.

Did Willie Wright not ever try and make it in the NFL???

Or was he just not big enough to play NFL Tight End? He was a helluva player.

The Rebels play at the Dorton Arena. You can get third row seats near midfield for < $18.

Willie is a damn big dude, and was fun to watch play here @ State, but so few players get to go pro.

I talk to him every now and again, I'll see if I can get him to go try-out for the Rebels. It'd be fun to see him play again.

Willie Wright dropped his license outside in a parking lot near the Flying Saucer...I picked it up, saw him inside and gave it to him...man he was happy as hell and said he'd buy me a beer...he owes me a beer

For 15 bucks you can sit about anywehre, those games are fun, they are constantly dancing and celbrating or fighting. Plus the cheerleaders hang out in the stands. And 50 cent hot dogs for one of the first 2 games

Those guys practice up at the Factory in Wake Forest

sometimes they let us soccer players have their leftover pizza at meetings

and I'm cool with that, so they're cool with me.

this team wont make it to the end of season... the coach just quit, and the players have walked out twice for not being paid.

They play in the AIFL (Atlantic Indoor Football League)

They just got their league MVP quarterback back tonight from injury!

I really can't wait to go see this game tonight!

Anyone who likes football should come, it's just a buck!

David Malino played a pretty good game tonight. Especially if you take those couple of picks he threw out.

His two or three TD's via air and 1 on the ground were good enough to make up for it.

And our D gave their QB fits. Sacked him plenty of times, including the first play of the game.

I had a good time, and I'd say they filled 1/3 to 1/2 of the place. The food was about the price of food at movie theaters, but not as expensive as food at the RBC.

What made it ghetto? I mean, some of them Reb Belles were thick in the right places and all ...

Fortunately I am too blind to see their faces.

The fuckin goalposts were different colors!

and mine and dweedles cokes were nasty

and the dumbest thing of all was the two sides of the stadium were isolated.. you couldnt get from one side to the other without going across the field

he actually was just filling in for a friend of ours who does in on a regular basis. but yeah, it's pretty gay looking. and the worst part is that he doesn't even get paid. he just does it so he can hang out with the cheerleaders

Is there a link to their site for tickets, or do they not have a site?

I guess the best way to get tickets is at the door

I went last week, it was about the price of any other event I'd ever been to.

It's much worse at a Hurricanes game, and comparable to an NC State game.

We are playing the team we are tied with for first place, so I am stoked about tonights game.

We lost, but it was a good game up until the end.

We took the lead in the 3rd quarter, but let it slip away in the fourth.

I went to a couple games early in the season. It was pretty cool as long as your not expecting too much. Football, fun atmosphere, music, and a little bit of "cheesiness" for a pretty good price.

When I went, the food was pretty cheap. First time they had 2 hot dogs for a dollar. Second time I went they had BBQ sandwiches for $2.

I'd much rather go watch a game like this than to go watch hockey. The only reason people give a shit about hockey here is b/c we have a team thats in a major league. Just people on a bandwagon. How people can pay well over $50 just to get into a hockey game is beyond me.

I also went to a Rebels game last year. They didn't have any home games, so we turned it into a road trip and went up to Virginia to watch them. Just something to do.

Why does everyone hate on Cotra so much? He's one of the best players on that team and is the hardest working--always gives 110%, ask any of the Rebels that.

They'd be undefeated if their coach knew what he was doing.

I myself have been watching hockey since I was no more than 3 years old. I like hockey because I grew up watching it, and the Hurricanes are my team now since they are local here, gotta support the local team. The ticket prices can get ridiculous though, I ALWAYS buy the cheap upper deck seats so that I dont pay upwards of $50 for a ticket, except the playoffs, but hell even in the playoff round I payed the following:
Round 1-$15 off a scalper
Round 2-$40 for first row of 314
Round 3-$70

^^ I wish there was a better way to make it clear that I had the strikethrough on the 5, too.

I think football is boring as all get-out. I watch State because it's State, but I have less than zero interest in the sport. I know football is America's sport and that's fine, but don't slag hockey on some BS reason like people only pay attention because it's the NHL and not a lower league. The Icecaps sold out Dorton on a regular basis.
