Chuck's take on the matter from the Fayetteville Paper:

Quote :
"“Last year, our big word was trust,” he said. “Well, go look up the trust on Google. There’s probably 50 definitions of that word. But just trust what’s going to happen here. Lee will get the right person for this job and this program.”"

I thought last year's big word was discipline?

“When I came up, they were more so the fourth team in North Carolina,” Jack said. “N.C. State was kind of like the lost soul.”

From some article...star news on the webrun on pp.

If I'm not mistaken, Jarrett Jack never beat us...ever.

Quote :
"The Raleigh and most other Tar Heel State media think Beilein is the guy. So do several big-time coaches, including at least one in the Big East Conference, where Beilein now works. Multiple sources working through back channels say there may be only two holdups.

One is Beilein's buyout, which, prorated as of today, is $2,989,041 for the remaining six years of his deal. He'd like to get it reduced, because if he doesn't, by the time Beilein would pay WVU back, he'd be netting the same money he is now.

The opinion here is that WVU shouldn't budge, and if President David Hardesty and athletic chiefs Ed Pastilong and Mike Parsons do, they would be criticized plenty.

I can assure you this: Those men do think Beilein is leaving, even if it hasn't happened yet -- and to this point they're holding the line on the buyout....

The other reason one college coach says Beilein isn't the guy yet is the soldout Mountaineer basketball dinner in Morgantown on Sunday night. Beilein is said to want strongly to go to that soiree with his glory team of five seniors as a last hurrah."

What an asshole. I don't think he beat us either.

Herb pwned GT. The year they made the Championship game we beat them twice.

I dont think he was being an asshole...

but to make basically a "red headed step child of NC" comment about a team that you never once beat is ignorant.

i don't think he was saying that gt was ahead of state.

i would assume duke, unc and md. were the ones ahead of us, i guess.

^ no, he said in north carolina

ie duke, unc, and wake, which was true

there is no ignorance. georgia techs inability to beat us with him there has nothing to do with that statement

Beilien if we're lucky. We still have that huge buyout to negotiate with, and that's a borderline deal-breaker in my opinion.

Shitty shit shit.

Lavin talked extensively with Wolfpack athletic director Lee Fowler for more than a week. He also discussed his broadcasting future with executives at ESPN and ultimately decided to stay with TV.

Lavin formerly coached at UCLA from 1996-2003. He has spent the last three seasons in broacasting at ESPN and ABC Sports. "

Beilein has issued a statement on the WVU athletics website saying that he's staying at WVU.

Oh...damn. I thought that was the "Belein likely to stay" article.

Well, this is a complete surprise to me. Supposedly both sides (WV and NCSU) agreed it was a done deal.

"ohhhhhhhhhhhh, this is ALL Lee's fault, if he were a better AD we would have BARNES!!!"

complete hilariousness, yet I am so dissapointed that we will end up with worse than we had.

Funny how much air time he sought when he wanted Herb gone but he sure has clammed up as of late.

I know, I've been saying it ever since Herb was run off. I was excited that we MIGHT get someone better, but I always knew better.

This whole process has been completely hilarious though as a board lurker. I don't post that much on here of PrickPride, but to watch all of them rant and rave and hate on Herb and then rejoice when he leaves and claim he wasn't run-off was mildly interesting. Then all the bullshit rumors and gloating that we did the right thing and we were going to be MUCH better off with our new big name coach. Now it's every hater for themselves, taking swings at Lee and every coach that turned us down, because we are the MIGHTY N C STATE!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha. I love this university to death, but some of y'all are fuuuuucked up!
