i think so unless its "a speed contest" or whatever

i've also heard if you only spin 1 tire you're car can't slide so you can't get wreckless endangerment.
but i think thats bullsh*t

honestly i think a cop can ticket you for whatever he damned well pleases.

Ehh, excessive display of power.

Not sure if they ticket for that in Wake County, but they DO ticket for it.

Regardless of whether your break into a spin or not.

if they want they'll give you a racing ticket - doesn't matter if the guy beside you didn't race you - or if there wasn't a guy beside you

^thats what i'm saying. if I can get a ticket for flooring it in a geo, then a corvette should get a ticket for like half throttle or something

I got pulled over on Avent Ferry one day when I was turning off of Western. There was a car coming up Avent Ferry turning into the hotle/dorm thingy there. I just did my normal acceleration (I mean, I come close to 40 in 1st gear), but the car decided he could make it across in front of me. I had to hit the brakes to miss hitting him, and the cop behind me hit his lights. Told me I accelerated too fast...don't know if he would have ticketed me because when he saw my military ID (strategically kept on top of the drivers license), he started talking about his days in and let me go.

I got a ticket for "improper start from a stop" one time. But I did break the tires loose when I hit it in first.

My Cultass used to chirp the tire @ part throttle when shifting into 2nd and 3rd. Got pulled several times for that. One cop said he could write me a C/R for it even though I never exceded 2500 rpm or 30 mph. Any chirping of the tires is a no no

on a sports bike... I got a ticket after doing a wheelie on western when I did a drag start. Only did fast acceleration up to 45mph and my wheelie was only a few inches off the ground.

Ah yes, this reminds me. In high school I had a 67 Chevelle with a 454 with posi. Just take turns with a very mild amount of throttle would cause the inner wheel to "chirp chirp chirp" because the posi was trying to lock up despite the different turning ratio of each wheel.

One night I got pulled by this bitch cop and was seriously the most confused I have ever been in my life about how I was "driving too fast", the reason I was pulled. Finally, after about 2 minutes of me and her going back and forth about why I was driving too fast and me explaining to her about the rear end and her then trying to tell me how my car was too loud she finally shines the flashlight on my buddy who hadn't put his seat belt on and said she should give him a ticket and she was tired of dealing with us and to get the hell out of her face.

Bizarre.

the first time I ever got pulled over was for doing a burnout. i remember telling the cop "How is it careless and reckless if the car isn't moving forward?"

he got pretty pissed, put me in the back of the car, hassled me a lot, searched my car, but didn't give me a ticket.

on a related note, what's the legality of entering a turn at the full legal limit (of the road you are turning off? of the road you are turning on to?), and possibly maintaining the full legal limit throughout the manuever?

how does this apply to turning manuevers to/from roads that have differing speed limits?

[Edited on April 7, 2006 at 5:28 AM. Reason : presuming no audible/visible loss of traction]

people..... everything is up to the officer

if you look like you're going too fast then i'm sure you'll get a careless and reckless.
if he's having a bad day

you def will if its a crowded intersection

you have to realize these are the same cops that sit in my apt complex waiting for people to roll through a stop sign that if you stop in the propper area you can't fucking see anything.

i bet that guy would give you c&r for scratching your balls while driving.
