i'm sure the xp coa is a sticker on the unit, so he wouldnt charge any less without it (aka he doesnt want to take it off)

what do you need to know about the system? the res is 1024 * 768 currently, I assume that is the max but it may go one step higher.

What is the condition of the batteries?

Do they come with the TV-out adapters?

SXGA Screen with 32 MB Dedicated video memory

30-day warranty, they are about 2.5 years old.

Is that video card, or even just the video memory, upgradeable? I need 128MB.

I doubt that a video card upgrade is worth the effort, sorry but you better look elsewhere.

^^no you dont. The amount of video memory on a laptop has virtually nothing to do with it's performance.

^^Yeah, it was a long shot. Good luck and here's a free bttt.

^When the requirements for CivIV include 128 MB video RAM, I surely DO need 128 MB of video RAM.

Civ4 will play on something with 64mb dedicated video memory, the wonder movies will just stutter... and odds are it will play on this laptop, just not smoothly.

I tried installing it on a system with 32MB, but the faces wouldn't render. All we got were the eyes. It was creepy. Anyhow, as I have a choice in what I buy, and I'm really not a big fan of choppy video, I will go for the recommended specs. I'm patient, and I realy ought to be writing my thesis rather than wasting my time with CivIV, so I'm comfortable waiting around for the right system to pop up.
