Quote : | "Nuggets' Julius Hodge Shot, Wounded Saturday, April 08, 2006 DENVER — Denver Nuggets guard Julius Hodge was shot and wounded early Saturday while driving on a highway, authorities said.
The team said he is in fair condition and is expected to make a full recovery. The Adams County Sheriff's Department said Hodge was struck several times in his lower body.
The sheriff's office said Hodge was driving on Interstate 76 in north Denver at about 2 a.m. when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside started shooting.
A passenger in Hodge's vehicle flagged down another motorist, who took Hodge and the passenger to a hospital.
Authorities said the motive for the shooting wasn't known and they appealed to any witnesses to come forward.
Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said the team had little information on the shooting.
"First and foremost, our primary concern is Julius' health," he said in a statement.
The 22-year-old player was the Nuggets' first-round draft pick in 2005 out of North Carolina State. Hodge, 6-foot-7, was recalled from the NBA's developmental league last month after Earl Boykins broke his hand.
He has appeared in 14 games for the Nuggets this season, averaging 0.9 point and 0.5 rebounds in 2.4 minutes.

I think that your thread about the tennis team was poorly named. All the threads titled "It's Official" and "Coach Announced" getting locked, one called "Finally" doesn't stand much chance.
That is why I said ibtl in your thread.

Quote : | "Club Manager: Hodge Dressed Like Gang Member Before Shooting
POSTED: 11:33 am EDT April 11, 2006 UPDATED: 11:33 am EDT April 11, 2006
DENVER -- Nuggets rookie Julius Hodge was "dressed like a gang member" at a nightclub hours before he was shot and wounded, and someone had flashed a gang sign at him, the club manager said.
Hodge, 22, was released from a hospital on Sunday, a day after he was shot three times in the legs while driving on a north Denver freeway. Authorities said they have no suspects and have not established a motive.
"He had a bandanna over his head, and maybe they thought he was in a gang," Paladium club manager Jose Ramirez told the Rocky Mountain News in Tuesday's editions.
Hodge had gone to the club to talk to a friend, hip-hop artist Juelz Santana, who was performing there, Adams County investigators said.
Ramirez said someone in the club's parking lot had flashed a gang sign at Hodge. It wasn't immediately clear whether Ramirez witnessed the incident.
The Nuggets have said Hodge is expected to fully recover and could play again in two or three weeks.
Investigators said that after Hodge left the nightclub, he and a passenger were on Interstate 76 when another vehicle pulled alongside and fired several shots into Hodge's car.
Hodge stopped and his passenger, whose name hasn't been released, flagged down another motorist who took the pair to a hospital. Investigators said the passenger was slightly injured.

well if he hangs out with juelz santana (known to always wear bandanas), then maybe he was going for the same style, but mistakenly picked the wrong color..who knows.

Quote : | " NBA Praises Julius Hodge For Getting Shot In Non-Controversial Fashion
April 13, 2006 | Onion Sports
DENVER—NBA commissioner David Stern proudly announced Tuesday that Denver Nuggets guard Julius Hodge was simply minding his own business while driving home from a Denver nightclub when he was shot in the leg three times. "It's a testament to the quality of character in the NBA that the only thing Julius Hodge was guilty of was being at the wrong place at the wrong time," said a beaming Stern to a group of reporters who were assembled to hear the announcement of the non-scandal. "Julius is a role model, not only for young NBA fans out there, but also other players in the league, specifically Paul Pierce and former New Jersey Nets forward Jason Williams." Stern was also careful to note that Hodge was not listening to rap music in his unremarkable, standard-factory-wheel-equipped four-door sedan at the time he was shot.
