Its been at least 3 years since I have had a routine physical, gotten cholesterol checked, etc.
I'm not as worried about the STD test because my wife and I have been together the entire time and we were both clean (at least we better still be! )
But how do you go about finding a doctor for an adult?
My daughter (1.5 years old) goes to a pediatrician in Raleigh, should I ask them?
I would really like to find someone in the Chapel Hill area where unfortunately I reside, but dont know where to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. 4/10/2006 5:20:13 PM |

I don't know. I'd probably look in the "Yellow Pages." 4/10/2006 5:22:30 PM |

I understand that....
but I dont want to do test runs on "turn your head and cough" until I find the Doc with the right grip, if ya know what I mean.
Oh well, I guess i was hoping someone would know of a decent adult doctor in the area. 4/10/2006 5:25:03 PM |

Most insurance companies have a directory of doctors. That might be a good place to start. Otherwise, word of mouth. I don't know anything about doctors in Chapel Hill, so I can't help ya there. 4/10/2006 5:26:48 PM |

I found mine at bcbsnc.com. You can search by location and sex of the doctor. Of course if you don't have bcbs then I guess that won't be as helpful. 4/10/2006 5:35:49 PM |

I found my doctor by searching thewolfweb and then making sure they were part of my BCBSNC PPO plan.
No for real.
Thanks Wolfweb. 4/10/2006 7:02:18 PM |

i would go through your insurance company to find doctors... that way you know you are covered. i also think that there are links somewhere on UNC's homepage to the different UNC-Healthcare places, and they have profiles of their doctors on there you could also ask your daughter's pediatrician as well... he may know some people who he went to med school with or something ~skip~ 4/10/2006 7:03:54 PM |

Yeah I just found one close by on my insurance company's online directory after I moved. It also lists their specialties, so you can see if they actually went to a half decent med school, and any areas of specialty (I wanted a general medicine doc with some sports medicine background in case of injury).
Seemed to work out fine. 4/10/2006 9:21:57 PM |

I'd ask friends or co-workers who are settled in the area if they have any recommendations, then see if your insurance covers the recommended person. 4/10/2006 9:23:21 PM |
