when using the eclipse tool, go to the toolbar under the command toolbar and select the paths option instead of the fill pixels option (the paths option is the square with a pen nib in it)
then in the paths window, right-click on the new path you just made and choose "make selection..." 4/12/2006 12:22:58 PM |

create a new layer above the background
use the ellipse tool to circle what you want, fill in the inside of the circle, go to select, modify, contract. 5 px is good if it is something on screen and not for print, then hit the delete button and the inside of the circle is cleared. 4/12/2006 12:23:31 PM |

oh, MAKE a circle
you can just use the ellipse tool, then go to layer styles and add a stroke of the amount and color you want, then go to the layers tab and set the layer opacity to 0%, then rasterize the layer
also if you hold shift while using the ellipse tool, you'll make a perfect circle
and if you hold shift+alt, you'll make a perfect circle centered on your initial mouseclick

It's useful to know, though. 4/13/2006 12:35:23 PM |
