I was walking in the Grocery Boy Junior gas station on Lake Wheeler and as I walked in, the owner and his brother were walking outside looking around. I didnt think much of it, grabbed my 2-liter of Mtn. Dew and walked to the register. Then I hear VROOM VROOM from outside, and looked out. Someone was stealing the fixed up Orange truck w/ the stickers and shit that's always sitting outside the store (belongs to the guys brother). Then I see the brother pull a gun on the dude and was like "STOP RIGHT NOW, STOP RIGHT NOW" and the guy in the truck just sat there in the parkinglot, revving, and finally peeled out and flew up the road. Guy with the gun (it was his truck) jumps in his SUV and chases him down.

30 minutes later, I saw that the truck was back in the parking lot. I went up and talked to him, and he said that the dude blew the head gasket and fled.

Just thought I'd share my crazy store for the day.

Those guys from the Grocery Boy are good family friends of mine... that shit really sucks.

Also, my dad's company did the truck for James (the guy who owns the truck) so I'm guessing my dad will be seeing it soon.

Lastly, they always have their guns on them. I mean seriously, think about the type of sketch balls that go in there and try to rob them late at night -- obviously, they don't take lightly to that shit

^ and yes, they are very nice. Some of the best people I know. Every year they sponsor the Racing Heroes Charity Auction featuring NASCAR drivers, memorabilia, NCSU/DUKE/UNC memorabilia and tickets, etc. with all proceeds going to the Duke Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Family Support Unit (long name I know, but awesome cause)

I was in there a little while ago and I asked if he got the truck taken care of and he said just about, that his mechanic only had a little more until it was good to go. He also said that noone has caught them and the cops wanted the search called off. He said that he wanted people that came into the store to feel safe and not worry about something like that happening to them. He said that a cop came in that didn't hear the call, but that he read about it on here...

(I just wonder if that cop didn't hear the call BECAUSE he was on here! j/k!)

Head gaskets aren't that hard to replace... the problem is that when the head gasket goes, it usually shits the oil and/or coolant and that causes any number of horrible things to happen to the engine that are not easy to repair.

No shit, but there are legit reasons for shooting a weapon in the city limits. Defense, if your life or someone else's life (and they can't get away) is in danger, you should have full right to use your weapon.
