THE TEXANS SHOULD PICK HIM OR TRADE TO GET HIM. THEY PASSED UP ON J-PEP A FEW YEARS AGO AND NOW THEY SUCK. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN IF U KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU.
MAYBE I'LL CATCH THEIR ATTENTION WITH LARGE CAPITAL LETTERS. 4/18/2006 6:29:18 PM |

Actually, Mario Williams was rated the #1 overall player by all 6 of the Packers' scouts, as reported by Chris Mortensen.
According to that segment, he's also going to the hall of hame barring injury.

He's not actually going to get drafted #1 though, it's all politics at this point.
This hype does help Mario though, because it is now VERY possible that he could go #2. Ironic how Brees cost Rivers two years of PT at SD, but now his trade to NO is what is paving the way for Mario to potentially go #2(either to NO or someone else who trades up for the pick). I'd still say it's a longshot, but it's looking a lot more possible than it was a month ago when the consensus draft order was Bush, Leinart, Young, Ferguson, Mario/Hawk. 4/18/2006 6:42:47 PM |

One of those 6 is one of my good friends (I know...cookie please). After the combine I asked if he thought Mario would fall to them at the 5th pick. He was like..."he's not getting past the 2nd pick."

I think Mario did take quite a few plays off...but I think it was due to the lack of offense and team drive to win. He may be slower than peppers and smaller, but still is a manchild that will embarass most NFL tackles day in and day out.

Never said it was a good reason, but I am willing to bet it was a reason...He knew he was pro caliber and big chance to make serious money in the league, but yet his team had very lilttle chance or success his last year...
I can't say I never took a play off...so I am not going to be the one to start bashin him...

Skip also said he didnt jump off the screen in the bowl game.
What the hell else was he supposed to do, rush for 100 yards?
He was in the backfield the entire game.
He absolutely carried us the 2nd half of the season....
If he played for a real football school, there wouldnt be any surprise about this guy being a top pick.

Gee, I wonder why Mario seemed to take plays off?
Could it be that he was often double and triple teamed? How about the endless chop-blocks? 4/20/2006 5:15:02 PM |
wolfAApack All American 9980 Posts user info edit post |
How about the fact that he got chop blocked like a motherfucker on every other play so he spent most of the time jumping over running backs instead of pounding tackles into the ground.
I'd fucking take plays off too if I got double teamed at the knees on every passing down.

from Peppers' draft profile, his 40 time is listed as 4.74. Mario's was right around that
How the hell can he talk about Mario being undersized? i could see if he was talking Manny, but not Mario.
And I think he prolly took plays off too. Hell, I think he took half of the season off. But that just makes his stats that much more impressive to me, since he did all that in just half the season.
Skip is just a moron and is sucking Bush off. So he doesn't want to give props to anyone else.4/21/2006 7:39:54 AM |

Woody claimed that Julius Peppers ran a 4.4 40 yard dash.
And that Mario was an inch too short haha
Woody is an idiot. He's funny, but he knows dick about sports...
I've come to realize the national media really doesnt know anything about sports... its just not possible to know the details behind every situation I guess... They just know bits and pieces about things and when its a topic you are already familiar with (head coach search, mario williams, etc) you realize just how inaccurate a lot of their statements are 4/21/2006 8:15:00 AM |

Well shit Mario may not be better than Julius Peppers.
But Peppers is one of the best players in the league...
I mean jesus christ think about the fact that the National Media called us stupid for taking Peppers over Harrington...
They always want you to take the QB because he's sexy. But if the QB is a bust you just wrecked your franchise for the next five years... 4/21/2006 11:34:35 AM |
